Organised by the Tusk Trust and supported by Safaricom, the 17th annual Safaricom Marathon and Half Marathon will take place at the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, 140 miles north of Nairobi, on Saturday 27th June 2020. This fundraising event will host over 1,000 runners from over 40 different countries. The Safaricom Marathon is regarded as one of the toughest marathons in the world. However, runners

of all abilities take part, from fun runners, walkers and amateurs, to professionals like Paul Tergat the Kenyan international and former world record holder. The Safaricom Marathon allows participants from all over the globe to compete in an internationally acclaimed event whilst running through some of Africa’s most breath-taking scenery. As a result, it has developed into one of the country’s major sporting events with a reputation for being one of the ten “must do” marathons in the world.

RACE INFO 🏃🏽‍♂️🌿
There are four race categories at the Lewa Safari Marathon:

• Full Marathon — 26 miles | 42.2km
• Half Marathon — 13 miles | 21.1km
• Executive 10km Race
• Children’s 5km Race

Set entirely on rugged dirt roads, the course takes runners on a spectacular 13-mile route through the conservancy; across open savannah plains, along riverbanks, and beneath iconic acacia woodland.

Half Marathon runners complete one full loop of the course, while Full Marathon runners take it on twice.

A race experience found nowhere else on earth. 🇰🇪🌍
