The Committee on Appointments has vetted former MCA for Akithii Ward in Tigania West Hon. (Rtd) Stephen Nturibi Etirikia. Hon. (Rtd) Etirikia who served in the Assembly between 2013-2017 has been nominated for appointment as the County Executive Committee Member (CECM), in charge of the Department of Legal Affairs, Public Service Management and Administration. The Committee, which is chaired by Hon. Ayub Bundi Solomon, the Hon. Speaker of the Assembly is expected to present a report for adoption.

The County Assembly has adopted the report on the first Supplementary Budget Estimates for The County Government of Meru - 012 for the financial year 2025/2026. The report was presented by the Chairperson of the Select Committee on County Budget and Appropriations Hon. Martin Koome Itonga alias Makasi, the MCA for Nkuene Ward in Imenti South Constituency. Hon. Makasi in his remarks reminded the House that the Supplementary budget process remains a critical fiscal instrument that enables County Governments to respond to emerging priorities, correct budgetary misalignments, and address unforeseen expenditures arising during implementation. Section 153 of the Public Finance Management Act, 2012 and Standing Order No.210 (3) of the County Assembly of Meru Standing Orders require the Select Committee on County Budget and Appropriations, to consider and analyze Supplementary Budget Estimates presented to the County Assembly.
