Meru Youth Service - MYS MYSB is a semi-autonomous Government Agency (SAGA) within the department of youth , sports , gender, and social services in the County Government of Meru.

Its core objective is to alienate meru youth from unemployment, poverty and hopelessness.

County Executive Committee Member for Roads, Energy, and Transport, who also serves as the Acting County Secretary, David Baariu, today took part in a successful clean-up exercise at Antubetwe Kiongo Market in Mutuati Sub County ,alongside the Meru Youth Service.
The activity, which was also attended by Meru Youth Service CEO, CPA Edwin Murangiri, brought together county officials, Meru youth service recruits, and local residents in a united effort to enhance cleanliness and create a more conducive business environment for traders and the surrounding community.
While addressing participants during the exercise, Acting County Secretary David Baariu expressed his gratitude to the Governor of Meru County, H.E. Rev. Mutuma M’Ethingia, for supporting a meaningful community initiatives that not only improve sanitation but also promote youth participation in development programs.
He emphasized that keeping markets clean is vital for public health, economic growth, and community pride. He also commended the residents of Antubetwe Kiongo for warmly welcoming the initiative and actively taking part in the clean-up.
Residents, in turn, expressed their happiness and appreciation, noting that the exercise had significantly improved the market environment while strengthening the relationship between the county government and the local community.

“The Third Borns”The Chui Company has officially completed their paradisciplinary training and community service at the MYS Training Centre!

This is a major milestone in their journey as they now head home for a well-deserved break to rest, reflect, and recharge.

They are expected back on 12th May to begin preparations for their much-anticipated pass-out ceremony before proceeding to the vocational training centre, where they will pursue their preferred courses and sharpen their professional skills for the future.

Before their departure, MYS CEO Edwin Murangiri took time to address the brigade, sharing words of encouragement, motivation, and guidance as they step into this exciting new phase of growth and opportunity.

The journey continues, and the future looks bright!

This afternoon in Timau Municipality, the Governor of Meru County, H.E. Rev. Mutuma M’Ethingia, joined the Meru Youth Service in their community service activities, where they continue to play an important role in promoting environmental cleanliness and conservation.

The programme is not only enhancing local communities but also creating employment opportunities, instilling discipline, and helping young people develop a stronger sense of purpose.

The Governor also engaged in an interactive session with residents to hear their priorities and reaffirm his administration’s commitment to addressing their needs and promoting sustainable development in the area.

The Simba Brigade, fondly referred to as “The Second Borns,” has successfully wrapped up their paradisciplinary training and community service at the MYS Training Centre. This marks an important step in their journey as they now head home for a well-deserved two-week break.

They are set to report back on 12th May, where they will begin preparations for their upcoming pass-out ceremony. Afterward, they will advance to the vocational training centre to take up their preferred courses and continue building their skills.

Ahead of their departure, MYS CEO Edwin Murangiri engaged with the brigade, sharing encouraging words and inspiring them to stay focused as they transition into this new chapter.
