The Ratieny–Serena Road in Got Kachola Ward, Nyatike Sub-County, is receiving a vital facelift that is reshaping mobility and opening the door to greater economic activity.

Under the leadership of Governor Ochilo Ayacko we are working on improving access by easing transportation, stronger market linkages, better access to services and renewed opportunities for residents.

The Mabera Cattle Auction Ring in Kuria West has a completed secure wall fence, borehole and water tank installed at the main office and ablution block. We are planning to further enhance this infrastructure through planning to install security lights, level the field, and erect a shade to provide shelter for traders.

This was during a development tour by Governor Ochilo Ayacko alongside our Deputy Governor Dr. Joseph Mahiri and Migori Agriculture, Livestock & Fisheries Development executive member Lucas Mosenda.

Governor Ochilo Ayacko today toured the Mabera Cattle Auction Ring in Kuria West for development progress like completion of a secure wall fence and the installation of water facilities for the main office and ablution block.

Karungu Sub County Hospital to get a Sh125million uplift as from next month we will allocate Kshs 50 million from the County Government towards the construction and has also lobbied for additional resources from partners, securing Kshs 75 million from the M-Pesa Foundation. We have already secured land for construction and extension while we are closing working with the National Government to partner in this noble course.

GOVERNOR PLEDGES A SORI MUNICIPALITY

Migori Governor Ochilo Ayacko has promised residents of Nyatike that plans are underway to establish a municipality to cover Sori town area which has seen the county government, national government and other partners pumping millions in developing the rapidly growing area.

The governor said over Sh120million set for new Karungu Referral Hospital coupled with Affordable Housing project, new bitumen road networks and improvement of infrastructure in Lake Victoria for transport and fishing will spur the push for a municipality.

(SHORT DOCUMENTARY) We have moved to have an impact at the Kehancha Referral Hospital where we are building a Mother and Child Unit with a 40 bed capacity ward, place for post natal care for mothers and infants, a new born unit, laboratory and modern offices.

We will also offer special clinics like Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT), physiotherapy among others.

This comes after we help secure steady water supply at the hospital, build a secure wall and modern lavatory services.

This will help improve service delivery not only for patients from Kuria region but also Transmara region and nearby Tanzania. It will also reduce cases of referral to Migori County Teaching and Referral Hospital.
