As part of our continued commitment to resolving historical land challenges, the Lands department CECM Mohamed Hussein Amadoh joined residents from Owino Uhuru, Ngamani, Mataa ya Ndege, Kwa Kipofu and Kopakopa during a public baraza on the ongoing land regularization programme.

Together with the area Member of Parliament, Hon. Badi Twalib Bady, local leaders, County officials and community representatives, they engaged residents on the land regularization process, responded to their questions, and outlined the next steps towards planning, surveying and the eventual issuance of title deeds.

Land ownership is more than just documentation it is about restoring dignity, providing security for families, unlocking economic opportunities and laying a strong foundation for sustainable development.

The CECM Lands Mohamed Hussein Amadoh joined fellow County officials and Old Town Ward MCA Hon. Abdulrahman Hussein in a consultative meeting chaired by the County Secretary Jeizan Farouq on the ongoing exercise to clear and restructure public reserve roads across the county.

The meeting brought together County officials and youths from Old Town Ward, who openly shared their concerns. Through dialogue and understanding, the matter was amicably resolved.

The County Government of Mombasa remains committed to restoring order and accessibility while ensuring our youths are supported through alternative opportunities and solutions.

Today, the Department of Lands, Urban Planning, Housing and Serikali Mitaani hosted a public participation forum in Mombasa organized by the Ministry of Lands, Public Works, Housing and Urban Development, in conjunction with the Council of Governors (COG) and the State Department for Devolution on the proposed Planning Laws (Amendment Bill, 2026, amendments to regulations on riparian reserves) and the review of key land use and urban development laws.

The forum brought together stakeholders from Mombasa, Kilifi and Taita Taveta counties, alongside professionals and members of the public, to deliberate on policies aimed at promoting sustainable urban planning, environmental protection and orderly development within our regions.

The Lands, Urban Planning, Housing, and Serikali Mitaani department reaffirms its commitment to ensuring the voices of Mombasa residents are heard and reflected in policies that shape the future growth and development of our communities.

Second Day of Civic Engagement with residents of settlement schemes in Mombasa County!

The lands department team held civic engagement meetings with residents of informal settlement schemes of Jomvu Kuu, Jomvu Mikanjuni, Ziwa La Ngombe, Bombolulu, Likoni 203, and Waitiki. The activity aims at providing accurate information on matters payment of land rates, title deeds registration into the county system and safe and effective urban development.
The department is committed to ensure inclusion of its stakeholders in every activity and achieving 100% compliance.
Mombasa county landlords are also encouraged to pay their land rates and take advantage of the waivers that are available until 15th of May 2026 to clear all their pending arrears.
