World Cerebral Palsy Day ! The County Government through the Department of Youth, Gender, Sports and Social Services - Mombasa County together with the Cerebral Palsy community had a colourful commemoration of World Cerebral Palsy Day at Tononoka Social Hall in Mvita Sub County .

The celebration under the theme , “We Are All Different, We Are Stronger Together. ” highlighted the importance of inclusion, empowerment, dignity and equal opportunities for Persons with Disabilities.

H.E. Governor Abdulswamad Shariff Nassir graced the colourful event reaffirming the County Government's commitment to an inclusive Mombasa where everyone has an opportunity to thrive.

Through the Department, the County Government is continuously working with PWDs, caregivers, organisations and partners to strengthen support systems and ensure no one is left behind.

🚧Road Works have been carried out along the Kiembeni–Mwisho to Kashani Road in Kisauni Sub County entailing grading and other improvements to restore movement for residents and motorists using that route.

The intervention by the Department of Transport and Infrastructure Mombasa County. is part of the County Government's commitment to addressing immediate road-access challenges while working towards a long-term and more sustainable solution for the road.

The grading works have improved accessibility along the route, particularly for residents, public transport operators and other road users who rely on this connection for their daily movements.

MATIBABU YA BURE!!

This month is Mwezi wa Baba — a time to remember our Founding Party Leader, the late Rt. Hon. Raila Amolo Odinga, and to recommit ourselves to the ideals he stood for: dignity, equality, social justice and a government that puts ordinary people first.

In his honour, I am pleased to announce that throughout the month of October, the County Government of Mombasa will offer free services across all our County health facilities.

There can be no more fitting tribute to Baba than translating the values he championed into service that touches the lives of our people directly.

Baba believed in people. We honour him by serving them.

BUILDING A SAFER AND MORE RESILIENT MOMBASA

Mombasa continues to strengthen disaster preparedness through multi-agency collaboration and capacity building.

Today, 21 officers from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) graduated after successfully completing Fire Marshal and Occupational First Aid Training at the EACC Mombasa Offices.

The training equips officers with practical skills to respond to emergencies, protect lives and safeguard property, strengthening our collective disaster response capacity.

We appreciate the EACC for entrusting the county department of fire and rescue services with the training, and the Office of the County Secretary, for its leadership and support. We also recognise the contribution of St. John Ambulance in First Aid training, alongside our dedicated Fire, Rescue & Disaster Management Team.

Special appreciation goes to MARAFIKI Organization, Community Disaster Management Response Volunteers (CDMRV) and DMRT for supporting community resilience, and to the Media fraternity for amplifying this important milestone.

🎓 Congratulations to our 21 graduands! Your newly acquired skills are an important addition to Mombasa’s disaster response capacity.

Together, we are taking disaster preparedness closer to the people and building safer, more resilient communities.

📜This Friday, 1,400 families from Mwakirunge scheme in Kisauni Sub County will receive title deeds as part of a targeted 4,300 that will be issued in the presence of H.E. President Dr. William Samoei Ruto at Mama Ngina Drive.

Other residents equally set to receive title deeds are families from Kwa Punda (Mikindani) — 639 titles and Waitiki — 478 titles.

A title deed means security, dignity, inheritance and the freedom to plan for the future with certainty.
