In line with the Corporation's vision to be the premier investment destination in Kenya, the corporation developed an Investor and Investment Evaluation Framework that has enhanced the efficiency in the evaluation of investors and investments to be undertaken by the Corporation.

The Framework has made it easy for the corporation to undertake due diligence on potential investors while identifying ways through which the corporation can facilitate to ensure the investors set base in the County.

The Framework has established a monthly Investor Showcase Day where potential investors get to meet with the Board of the Corporation and showcase their investment proposals.

Yesterday, Taita Taveta Investment & Development Corporation’s Directors Catherine Kilelu, Josephine Mbela and Johnson Mwawasi had a fruitful meeting with a team from National Environment Trust Fund (NETFUND). The meeting explored opportunities for collaboration in resource mobilization on climate related financing and investments.

NETFUND’s mandate is to mobilize public and private finance to enhance environmental management and climate resilience in the country. The Board presented the corporation’s vision to attract investment in Taita Taveta County that will catalyze green economic development through a sustainability framework that underpins the corporation’s pursuit of investments.

The corporation has put in place a robust investment framework and established a PPP Coordination Unit that is ready to attract investors. We look forward to working with NETFUND to strengthen capacity and leverage the various climate financing mechanisms and funders to contribute to sustainable and inclusive economic development in the county.

Taita Taveta County has been facing acute water shortage despite having vast fresh water resources including the Njoro-Kubwa Springs in Taveta, Mzima Springs in Tsavo West, Lake Challa and Lake Jipe in Taveta.

The primary challenges have been lack of bulk water supply infrastructure, inefficient old Mzima I pipeline and dilapidated water distribution networks, high operational costs (repairs& maintenance and high electricity cost) contributing to low service levels.

Over the last four months, the Taita Taveta Investment & Development Corporation together with the County's Department of Water has been working together to set up the first County bulk water PPP project that will significantly address the water challenge in the County.

We are excited to have received approval from the PPP Directorate, National Treasury, Kenya to proceed with the feasibility studies that will see the project procured through the PPP model. We look forward to working with the Directorate, the County Government, the Ministry of Finance and other government agencies to make the project a model that can be replicated in other Counties in Kenya.

The Taita Taveta Investment & Development Corporation congratulates the Jumuiya Ya Kaunti Za Pwani - JKP for signing of a collaborative framework with the Kenya Investment Authority at a colorful event yesterday at the Eka Hotel in Eldoret.

We look forward to working with the Authority, Jumuiya Ya Kaunti Za Pwani and the The Taita Taveta County Government, County Government Of Mombasa, Government of Kwale, Government of Kilifi, Tana River and Lamu in attracting investment in the region.

The Taita Taveta Investment & Development Corporation plans to leverage on private sector investment to stimulate sustainable economic growth, create quality employment opportunities and improve the quality of life of the citizens of Taita - Taveta County.

To this end, the Corporation, working with the The Taita Taveta County Government, has constituted and trained members of the Project Implementation Team that will support the identification, preparation, tendering and implementation of PPP projects in the County in line with the provisions of the PPP Act.
