𝗙𝗔𝗥𝗘𝗪𝗘𝗟𝗟 𝗧𝗢 𝗔 𝗗𝗘𝗗𝗜𝗖𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗗 𝗦𝗘𝗥𝗩𝗔𝗡𝗧 𝗢𝗙 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗞𝗘𝗡𝗬𝗔 𝗣𝗥𝗜𝗦𝗢𝗡𝗦 𝗦𝗘𝗥𝗩𝗜𝗖𝗘
The Kenya Prisons Service today joined the family, relatives, friends and colleagues in bidding a final farewell to SSP Alex Kazungu, who served as the Officer in Charge, Mombasa Remand Prison and his beloved daughter Claire Heri.

The Service was represented by Director Enterprise, SACGP Mr. Charles Mutembei, MBS who conveyed the heartfelt condolences and sympathies of the Commissioner General of Prisons, Mr. Patrick M. Aranduh, CBS and the entire Kenya Prisons Service fraternity to the bereaved family.

SSP Kazungu served the Service with dedication, professionalism and commitment, leaving behind a legacy of service that will be remembered by his colleagues and the wider Kenya Prisons Service family.

As the family and loved ones lay him and his daughter to rest, we stand with them in this difficult moment of grief and loss.

May their souls rest in Eternal Peace.

59th Passing Out Parade for Administration Police Service Recruits

“A nation’s security depends significantly on the integrity of its institutions.” — H.E. Hon. William Samoei Ruto, PhD., C.G.H., President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces.

President Ruto made the remarks as he presided over the 59th Passing Out Parade of 5069 Administration Police Service Recruits for Course 1/2025, held at the National Police College, Embakasi ‘A’ Campus.

The colourful ceremony was attended by the Commissioner General of Prisons, Mr. Patrick M. Aranduh, CBS, alongside other Service Commanders and senior Government officials.

In his address, the President reminded the newly passed-out officers that the authority entrusted to them is derived from the Constitution of Kenya and is ultimately exercised on behalf of the Kenyan people. He urged the officers to uphold the highest standards of integrity, professionalism and accountability as they undertake their constitutional mandate of protecting the country and serving its people.

The President further highlighted the Government’s continued efforts to improve the welfare of security sector personnel through enhanced remuneration, improved working conditions and expanded access to better housing.

He congratulated the newly sworn-in officers on successfully completing their training and challenged them to discharge their duties with diligence, discipline, integrity and dignity, always placing the interests and security of the Kenyan people at the forefront.

Security is the foundation of safe custody.
The Commissioner General of Prisons, Mr. Patrick Aranduh, CBS, undertook an inspection of the incomplete perimeter wall at Shimo la Tewa Maximum Prison, reaffirming the Service’s unwavering commitment to strengthening security infrastructure, enhancing safe containment and maintaining secure prison facilities.

Beyond security, the Commissioner General also visited the Kenya Prisons Service stand at the Mombasa International Trade Fair, where he commended the team for its exemplary performance in showcasing the Service’s products, innovations, rehabilitation programmes and prison industries.

From secure custody to skills development and enterprise, the Kenya Prisons Service continues to deliver on its mandate.

CGP's Working Visit to Malindi Prisons Command.

The Commissioner General of Prisons, Mr. Patrick Aranduh, CBS, visited Malindi Main and Women Prisons during his working tour of the Coast Prisons Command.
The visit focused on security, discipline and operational readiness, with the CGP urging officers to uphold professionalism and remain prepared to effectively discharge their mandate.

Engaging inmates, the CGP encouraged them to embrace rehabilitation and self-improvement by actively participating in education, vocational training and other rehabilitation programmes that equip them with skills and values for a successful return to society.

The CGP was received by the Regional Prisons Commander, Coast, ACGP Hassan Tari, OGW, alongside CP Peter Komora, Officer in Charge, Malindi Main Prison, and ASP G. Komora, Officer in Charge, Malindi Women Prison.

He was accompanied by the Director, Prisons Enterprise, SACGP Charles Mutembei, MBS, among other senior officers.

𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝟭𝟰𝟵𝗧𝗛 𝗣𝗢𝗟𝗜𝗖𝗘 𝗕𝗔𝗦𝗜𝗖 𝗥𝗘𝗖𝗥𝗨𝗜𝗧 𝗣𝗔𝗦𝗦-𝗢𝗨𝗧 𝗣𝗔𝗥𝗔𝗗𝗘

The Commissioner General of Prisons, Patrick M. Aranduh, CBS, today attended the 149th Police Basic Recruit Pass-Out Parade at the National Police College Main Campus, Kiganjo.

The ceremony was presided over by H.E. Hon. William Samoei Ruto, PhD, C.G.H., President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces, and was attended by other Service Commanders.

In his address, the President noted that the recruitment of over 5,000 new police officers is aimed at strengthening public order and enhancing security across the country. He emphasized that modern policing should be measured not only by the number of crimes solved, but also by the crimes prevented and lives protected.

The President further highlighted the Government’s commitment to improving the welfare of security officers through the construction of 47,000 housing units across 165 projects, noting that approximately 2,000 units have already been completed and are ready for occupation.

He urged the newly recruited police officers to serve Kenyans with diligence, integrity and professionalism, reminding them that the uniform represents trust, fairness and justice.

The occasion marked an important milestone in strengthening Kenya’s security architecture and reaffirming the commitment of the country’s uniformed services to protecting and serving the people of Kenya.
