7TH JUNE 2026

EMPOWERING WOMEN, STRENGTHENING COMMUNITIES AND EMBRACING THE GOVERNMENT TRANSFORMATIONAL AGENDA

Today I joined fellow leaders and the community in Mbooni constituency for various activities including a women economic empowerment Forum in Waia/Kako Ward, Kyang’ondu Shopping Centre, Fundraising for the AIC Iiuni Church, and inspection of ongoing development projects in the region.

The Women empowerment forum was aimed at sensitizing women to ensure they gain financial and political inclusion, access social programs, and obtain economic resources that provide long term security. I encouraged women to take their rightful place in society as a key anchor of our communities and further urged them to lean on one another for mentorship and to step forward for leadership whenever opportunities arise.

We also inspected ongoing tarmacking works on key roads — Ngoluni–Mwaani kwa Mukunuu- Itangini, Mbumbuni-Kithungo, Kikima-Kyambalasi, and Kalii Road, a project poised to transform the region’s economic prospects.

I was accompanied by Hon. Kisoi Munyao (host), Member of the National Assembly, Kibwezi West Hon. Mwengi Mutuse, Kenya Railways Managing Director Mr Philip Mainga, Hon Fred Muteti, Chairperson, SEZA Board of Directors, Ms. Damaris Maweu, Director at KEMRI, various Members of the County Assembly and other leaders.

I thank the current government led by HE William Samoei Ruto for deliberately including the Kamba region in its transformational agenda.

SUNDAY SERVICE, CHURCH SUPPORT, AND WOMEN'S EMPOWERMENT IN MAKUENI

Today, I had the privilege of joining the faithfuls at Kyemundu Catholic Church in Kyemundu Catholic Church , Mbitini Ward, Nzaui Sub-county, for Sunday Mass.

I was also honored to grace the celebrations Mithini Parish, which will be officially commissioned next Sunday by the Makueni Diocese Bishop Peter Kamomoe.
I was accompanied by distinguished leaders including Hon Mwengi mutuse Member of Parliament for Kibwezi West, Hon Fred Muteti, Chairperson of the Special Economic Zones Authority (SEZA) and Hon. Michael Kisoi Munyao among other county and community leaders.

Together, we supported these church communities with donations of building materials to help complete their church infrastructure, a tangible demonstration of our commitment to serving our faith communities and supporting spiritual development in our region.

Later, we engaged with women in a powerful empowerment session spanning Emali and Mulala. The energy, resilience, and determination I witnessed were truly inspiring.
Women are the backbone of our communities. They anchor key economic activities and hold our households together. When we invest in women through capacity building, access to economic activities, financial literacy, and leadership opportunities, we invest in the entire community's future.

To the women of Emali and Mulala, your hard work does not go unnoticed. You are a valued part of the community. The government values the role women play in the community and will continue to create an enabling environment where women thrive.

29TH MAY 2026
CHAMPIONING EDUCATION, EXCELLENCE, AND COMMUNITY TRANSFORMATION

Today, I was privileged to join teachers, parents, students, and the entire AIC Mwaani Secondary School fraternity during the school’s Prize Giving Day ceremony, where we celebrated academic excellence and outstanding student achievement.

I congratulated the 2025 KCSE candidates for the school’s impressive performance, attaining a mean score of 7.859, an improvement from 6.742 recorded the previous year. Out of the 163 candidates who sat for the examinations, 136 qualified for university admission, a remarkable achievement that reflects the dedication, discipline, and commitment of the students, teachers, and parents.

During the event, I had the honour of awarding top-performing students and officially commissioning the school bakery project, an important initiative that will enhance sustainability, promote practical learning, and support the institution’s development agenda.

In my remarks, I encouraged students to remain disciplined, focused, and consistent in their academic journey, noting that hard work, humility, and determination are key pillars of success. I also urged parents and teachers to continue mentoring and guiding learners by instilling strong values and responsible character.

I reaffirmed government commitment to supporting development agenda through initiatives aimed at strengthening education, improving infrastructure, expanding access to water, and enhancing other essential services that uplift livelihoods and drive socio-economic transformation. Meaningful and sustainable development can only be achieved through unity, collaboration, and collective responsibility.

Also present were Dr. Kiio S. Ndolo, Director of the National Syndemic Diseases Control Council, education stakeholders, school administrators, local leaders, parents, and members of the community.

STRENGTHENING SCHOOL FEEDING PROGRAMMES TO SUPPORT LEARNING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT

Today, I joined teachers, parents, pupils and community members at Kilungu AIC Primary School for a foodstuff distribution exercise that benefited 87 schools across Kilungu and Ilima wards.

The initiative is aimed at strengthening school feeding programmes to support learners’ well-being, improve school attendance, and enhance academic performance across the region. During the exercise, I reaffirmed my commitment to supporting education and community development initiatives within the two wards, including improving infrastructure in various schools.

In my remarks, I emphasized the importance of sustainable food support programmes in schools, noting that no child should struggle to learn because of lack of food. I observed that school feeding programmes play an important role in improving learner attendance, retention, and creating a conducive environment for learning.

I further assured residents that I remain committed to championing development projects that directly benefit the people, adding that service delivery and development should rise above politics. I called on leaders and Citizens to embrace peaceful politics and unity for the sake of development and stability in the region.

On infrastructure development, I announced plans to launch the Ukia–Kyambeke Road project by H.E. William Samoei Ruto and pledged continued expansion of tarmac roads across Kaiti Constituency.

I also reaffirmed my commitment to ensuring completion of the Kilungu KMTC project, which had stalled for an extended period.

I also addressed the recent rise in fuel prices, explaining that the increase had been occasioned by the ongoing war in the Middle East, which continues to affect global fuel supply and prices. I urged Kenyans to remain patient as the government continues to explore interventions aimed at easing the burden on citizens.

Other dignitaries present included Dr. Kiio S. Ndolo from the National Syndemic Disease Control Council, Antony Maina Macharia, Deputy County Commissioner Kilungu, Education officials, school headteachers, parents, local leaders, and other stakeholders in the education sector.
