Kenya Accreditation Service (KENAS) participated in a preparatory meeting chaired by the Principal Secretary, State Department for Industry, Dr. Juma Mukhwana, PS State Dept. for Industry, ahead of the upcoming Industrialisation Summit, to be held within the Changamka Festival, from 3rd–7th November 2026 at KICC, Nairobi.

KENAS was represented by Ms. Joyce Gichuru, Deputy Director, Accreditation – Research, Scheme Development and Training.

The Changamka Festival, spearheaded by the Kenya Association of Manufacturers, will provide a platform to showcase Made-in-Kenya products, alongside the Summit's discussions on the future of Kenya's industrial sector.

For KENAS, industrialisation is not just about producing more, but producing with confidence.

Through accreditation, KENAS strengthens confidence in testing, inspection and certification services that support compliance with standards, industrial competitiveness and access to regional and international markets.

Reliable medical laboratory results are essential to quality healthcare and patient safety.

KENAS Deputy Director, Medical Accreditation Department, Ms. Mueni Mengo, is participating in the 31st Annual Meeting of ISO/TC 212 in Singapore.

She is attending as an ISO/CASCO Liaison Representative and a Kenyan expert, while also serving as Deputy Convenor of Working Group 1 (WG 1), providing secretariat support.

The meeting focuses on developing and revising international standards that strengthen quality, competence and consistency in medical laboratory testing and in vitro diagnostic systems.

Through such engagements, KENAS contributes to international efforts that support reliable laboratory services and greater confidence in healthcare.

Kenya Accreditation Service (KENAS) is participating as a partner and sponsor of the three-day Global Trust Summit 2026: Nairobi Dialogue on Global Trust, which brings together leaders, policymakers and institutions to explore how transparency, integrity, accountability and responsible leadership can strengthen public confidence.

KENAS is represented by Mr. Stanslaus Alwyn Masinza, Deputy Director, Strategy, Business Development and Communication.

Strengthening Water Quality and Service Delivery Through Accreditation

Safe water and efficient service delivery depend on reliable testing, accurate measurement and effective quality assurance.

During the Mashujaa Day Exhibition at Eldoret National Polytechnic, KENAS engaged Wasreb Kenya at its exhibition stand to explore opportunities for collaboration in the water sector.

The discussions focused on the role of accredited conformity assessment services in assuring water quality and safety, as well as accredited calibration services in improving water meter accuracy and supporting efforts to reduce non-revenue water losses.

Through accreditation of testing and calibration laboratories to ISO/IEC 17025, KENAS strengthens confidence in water quality test results and measurement reliability, contributing to public health protection and improved water service delivery.
