MARIGAT MUNICIPALITY STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT UPDATE

Marigat will be conferred Municipal status in July 2026, following gazettement and completion of the legislative process earlier this year.

On Friday, 26th June 2026, we held the first stakeholders’ meeting at the Sub-County offices with key representatives to begin transition planning.

Tomorrow, Monday, the selected representatives will reconvene to expand engagement and ensure all residents of the proposed Municipality are informed and ready to embrace the new status.

A Municipality is a semi-autonomous entity run by a Municipal Board, a Municipal Manager, and with an independent budget. This structure supports daily operations, public order, and business, to ensure a well-planned and habitable environment for residents.

This milestone will unlock better planning, improved services, and more investment for Marigat and Baringo South.

Today morning I delivered uniform and balls for Tebei FC, Tinomoi FC and Kate FC following their request made a week ago during the site handing over of Tebei Maternity block and Public engagement at Tebei.

I will endeavour to engage other teams within my ward and entire Baringo south as we create the future we all aspire.
