The Probation and Aftercare Service (PACS) today marked a significant milestone in its ongoing institutional transformation with the official opening of the Risk Needs Assessment (RNA) Training of Trainers programme at .
Speaking on behalf of the Ag. Secretary, the Director Social Inquiries and Assessment Directorate Madam Rahab Kyengo said that the training was a strategic investment in the professional growth of the Probation and Aftercare Service and in the future of offender rehabilitation and community safety in Kenya. She said that prioritizing staff development through training, operational reforms, policy review, and innovation would reposition PACS as a modern, professional, responsive, and evidence-driven correctional service.
Present during the opening ceremony was Rebecca Nyandiwa from UNODC Eastern Africa, Nairobi Region Probation Director Serah John, and Head of Legal and Partnerships Madam Carol Adero. The training runs from 11th to 22nd May 2026 across KSG campuses in @ Kenya School of Government, , and .
