IET-K REPRESENTED AT KATIBA DAY 2026 🇰🇪
The Association of Professional Societies in East Africa (APSEA) joined H.E. the President of the Republic of Kenya in marking Katiba Day 2026 at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC), as the country celebrated 16 years of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010.
The occasion brought together leaders, institutions and representatives from various professional societies, providing an important platform for reflection, engagement, collaboration and strengthening professional participation in national affairs.
We are proud that The Institution of Engineering Technology of Kenya (IET-K) was represented by our Vice President, ensuring that the voice and presence of engineering technology professionals remained part of this important national occasion.
At IET-K, we represent and champion the interests of technologists, technicians, craftspersons and artisans across the engineering technology profession. We therefore believe that showing up matters—not only for visibility, but also for ensuring that the contribution of our entire engineering technology team is recognized across different platforms.
Every engagement creates an opportunity to build relationships, strengthen recognition, share expertise and position engineering technology professionals where important conversations and decisions are taking place.
We keep showing up. We keep building visibility. We keep creating impact.
As IET-K, we look forward to more engagements, partnerships and opportunities to represent and advance the engineering technology profession at national, regional and international platforms.
IET-K — Visible. Inclusive. Engaged. Making an Impact.

Celebrating a decade of Engineering Technology.

The Engineering Resilient Solutions for Sustainability workshop is underway at Boma Inn, Eldoret, on a light, inspiring and celebratory note, marking a significant milestone 10 years since the Engineering Technology Act, 2016, became law.

The Act marked a transformative milestone for the engineering technology profession in Kenya, including the establishment of the Kenya Engineering Technology Registration Board (KETRB) as the regulator responsible for the registration and regulation of engineering technologists and technicians.

The day began with reflections from some of the pioneers and champions who played a key role in shaping this journey, including Hon. Cecilia Ngetich, the sponsor of the Bill, Prof. Ondieki, Mrs. Mutai and Mrs. Gwaya, who shared their experiences and perspectives on the past decade.

The celebrations were later crowned by a procession to mark the 10 year milestone, bringing together professionals, engineering technologists, technicians, students and other stakeholders in a symbolic celebration of a decade of progress.

As we honour the pioneers who laid the foundation and celebrate the establishment of KETRB, we are reminded that the journey does not end with legislation or regulation. The next chapter must focus on strengthening professionalism, embracing innovation and harnessing engineering technology to deliver resilient and sustainable solutions for Kenya and beyond.
