From the sky to the road, every transfer is a coordinated journey of care. 🚁🚑

Recently, our team supported a medevac from Helipad to Hospital, coordinating seamlessly between air and ground medical teams to ensure a safe and timely transfer.

Behind every high-level evacuation is a carefully coordinated process; from receiving the call and assessing the patient’s needs, to coordinating the aircraft and ground ambulance, ensuring smooth patient transfer, and providing continuous medical care throughout the journey.

At E-Plus, we work closely with aviation partners, hospitals, emergency response teams and other stakeholders to connect every part of the evacuation journey. Whether a patient needs to be moved across the city, across the country or supported through an international evacuation, our focus remains the same: patient safety, continuity of care and timely response.

Because when every second matters, we don't just move patients; we coordinate care from point to point.

Knowing Your Crew – Meet Monica.

1. Tell us a little about yourself and your journey into emergency medical dispatch?
I’m someone who enjoys reading, connecting with people and having meaningful conversations, so dispatch naturally became a good fit for me. My journey started as an EMT working on ambulances in Kakamega County. When an opportunity to join dispatch came up, I showed interest, took the chance, and that’s how my journey as a dispatcher began.

2. What inspired you to become a dispatcher, and what do you enjoy most about the role?
What inspires me most is knowing that I can help several people, sometimes at the same time, while being the calm voice in the middle of a crisis. I love that I can contribute to saving lives even when I’m not physically at the scene. Being able to guide, coordinate and support an emergency response from the dispatch centre is incredibly fulfilling.

3. As a dispatcher, how do you stay calm and make the right decisions when every second matters?
I remind myself to stay calm and focused because there is someone on the other end whose life may depend on the decisions I make. That responsibility keeps me focused, helps me think clearly and reminds me that every second matters.

4. What is one thing you would like the public to know about the important role dispatchers play in saving lives?
A dispatch centre is much more than just a call centre. It is at the heart of emergency medical services. From receiving an emergency call to assessing the situation, coordinating resources and guiding the response, dispatchers play a crucial role in making sure help gets to where it is needed.

Meet the people behind the response.
This is Monica. This is her story.

Going the Distance When Every Second Matters

Over the weekend, we carried out two long-distance transfers for critically ill patients -- one travelling from Eldoret to Garissa, and another from Nairobi to Kutulo in Mandera County.

Altogether, our crews covered approximately 2,913 kilometres, providing care in transit throughout their journeys.

Long-distance patient transfers demand more than a well-equipped ambulance. They require skill, endurance, teamwork and vigilance. Our crew rose to the challenge, as they consistently do.

E-Plus is proud to provide safe, professional and compassionate medical care to our patients, regardless of time, location or distance.

Building the Future of Emergency Medical Response. 🚑

At E-Plus, we believe strong emergency response systems are built on skilled people and meaningful partnerships.

Through the Kenya Red Cross Training Institute, we continue to support the development of the next generation of emergency medical professionals; strengthening the skills needed for quality pre-hospital care.

This collaboration was instrumental in supporting SHA during the establishment of the National Ambulance Dispatch Centre, bringing together E-Plus, Kenya Red Cross and the Training Institute around one shared mission: strengthening emergency response in Kenya.

As we move forward, we look forward to deepening this collaboration through training, knowledge exchange and innovation; building stronger emergency systems for Kenya and beyond.

One team. One mission. Time Is Life. 🚑

When you call for an ambulance, the dispatcher’s questions are not meant to delay help.

They help assess the emergency, prioritize the response, and guide you on what to do while the ambulance is on the way.

Stay calm. Answer clearly. Help is already being coordinated.

Time Is Life.
