Building on Expertise Through Continuous Training | E-Plus Kenya × CFAO Mobility

Effective emergency medical services rely not only on well-equipped ambulances but also on competent, prepared and safety-conscious Ambulance operators. In partnership with CFAO Mobility, our ambulance operators participated in a capacity-building programme covering vehicle maintenance, four-wheel-drive (4WD) operations, off-road driving and road safety. The initiative aimed to enhance the knowledge and practical capabilities of our experienced team, reinforcing the skills and professional judgment needed to operate safely and confidently across varying road conditions in support of emergency response.

The training explored basic vehicle maintenance and operational cost management, with a focus on routine vehicle inspections, engine compartment checks, tyre assessments and preventive maintenance practices. These measures are essential in improving vehicle reliability, minimizing avoidable breakdowns and promoting cost-effective fleet operations. The road safety sessions further emphasized driver accountability, responsible decision-making and adherence to safe driving practices. Through practical off-road exercises, operators also gained further insight into 4WD systems, appropriate gear selection and vehicle control when navigating challenging terrain.

WORLD PATIENT SAFETY DAY.

As evening sets in and the city slows down, EMS teams remain ready ; responding to emergencies, carefully assessing patients, providing appropriate care, navigating safely and ensuring every patient is transported and handed over with the attention they deserve.

Behind every response is a team making careful decisions to ensure patient safety. From the dispatcher receiving the call, to the emergency medical team providing care, and the ambulance operator ensuring a safe journey, every role contributes to one goal: keeping the patient safe.

Because in emergency care, speed matters; but also safe, coordinated and compassionate care matters just as much.

We recognise the EMS professionals who continue to serve when most of the world is winding down.

WORLD PATIENT SAFETY DAY : MYTH vs FACT

At E-Plus, safe patient evacuation is more than moving a patient from one location to the other.

It means assessing the patient, using the right equipment and personnel, ensuring appropriate positioning and support, and maintaining clear communication throughout the evacuation.

Once inside the ambulance, care continues. Our medical teams assess, monitor and respond to changing patient needs, while our operators navigate safely to the destination.
