Nairobi’s diplomatic momentum continued to intensify today as Jomo Kenyatta International Airport received an extraordinary lineup of African Heads of State and senior government leaders arriving for the ongoing Africa Forward Summit 2026.
Among the distinguished leaders received were H.E. Paul Kagame, President of the Republic of Rwanda; H.E. Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno, President of the Republic of Chad; H.E. Hakainde Hichilema, President of the Republic of Zambia; H.E. Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt; H.E. Bola Ahmed Tinubu, President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria; H.E. Aziz Akhannouch, Head of Government of the Kingdom of Morocco; H.E. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, President of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania; H.E. Colonel Michael Randrianirina of Madagascar; H.E. Mohamed Al-Melfi of Libya; H.E. Daniel Francisco Chapo, President of Mozambique; H.E. John Dramani Mahama, President of Ghana; and H.E. Faustin-Archange Touadéra, President of the Central African Republic.
The dignitaries were received by Cabinet Secretary for Energy and Petroleum, Hon. Opiyo Wandayi; Cabinet Secretary for Public Service, Hon. Geoffrey Ruku; and Cabinet Secretary for Mining, Blue Economy and Maritime Affairs, Hon. Hassan Ali Joho, alongside other senior government officials, diplomats, and members of the diplomatic corps.
Their arrival further reinforces the significance of the Africa Forward Summit as a premier platform for continental dialogue, bringing together African leaders, policymakers, investors, and strategic partners to advance discussions on economic transformation, regional integration, innovation, trade, and sustainable development.
At the centre of these high level arrivals, Kenya Airports Authority, in coordination with other Government agencies, continue to demonstrate operational excellence through seamless facilitation, coordinated protocol, and round the clock support for the distinguished delegations attending the summit.
