: Senator

We're embarking on a post series detailing what the Constitution says about the elective/nominative positions of leadership we have in Kenya.

To do this, we've broken each one down - from President to MCA - capturing their definitions and functions in as much as detail as we could fit in

As you read, you may notice recurring patterns and similarities across these offices. We hope this sparks conversations that encourage Kenyans to make better informed choices regarding these six leadership positions.

NB: The colour choices are deliberate, reflecting the ballot paper colour assigned to each respective leadership position during elections. This is also meant to mentally familiarise citizens with one of the Constitutionally-backed methods of power transition.

This is civic information dissemination, as backed by the Constitution of Kenya 2010.
