Today, the National Police Service Commission joined H.E. President William Samoei Ruto, the Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces, at the 59th Passing-Out Parade of Administration Police Service recruits at the National Police College, Embakasi ‘A’ Campus.

The occasion highlighted ongoing efforts to modernise the National Police Service through improved training, facilities, equipment and personnel welfare, including the commissioning of a newly built 780-capacity barracks.

The President also paid tribute to officers who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty and presided over the flag handover to the contingent serving under the MSS mission in Haiti.

Congratulations to all the recruits as you embark on this noble journey. Serve with integrity, professionalism and dedication. We wish you success in your service to the nation.

The Chairperson of the National Police Service Commission, Dr. Amani Yuda Komora, led a delegation from the Commission comprising the CEO Peter Leley and members of the Secretariat in paying courtesy calls to the Coast Regional Commissioner, Coast Regional Police Commander, and Coast Regional Administration Police Commander.

Discussions focused on decentralization of counselling services and other areas of collaboration to enhance service delivery.

The Chairperson and the CEO also held a meeting with staff of the NPSC Coast Regional Office, whom they commended for strengthening the Commission's presence in the Coast Region.

Chairperson, Commissioners and CEO joined H.E. President William Samoei Ruto and other leaders at the National Police College Main Campus, Kiganjo, for the Passing-Out Parade of over 6,000 police recruits.
The colourful ceremony marked the culmination of rigorous training, discipline and preparation, as the recruits took an important step towards assuming their responsibilities in safeguarding lives, property and national security.

The occasion also marked the launch of a modern gym facility at the College, underscoring the importance of physical fitness, wellness and the overall welfare of police officers. The facility will support the development of physically fit, resilient and professionally prepared officers capable of meeting the demands of modern policing.

The National Police Service Commission remains committed to supporting professional policing through quality training, improved welfare, institutional development and the strengthening of standards within the Service.

NPSC Advances Regional Engagements to Strengthen Service Delivery

The National Police Service Commission (NPSC) has commenced the second phase of its regional engagements, with a visit to the Nairobi Region Office at Nyayo House, Nairobi Regional Police Headquarters and the National Criminal Investigations Academy.

Led by Vice Chairperson Prof. Collette Suda, the delegation, comprising Commissioners Angeline Siparo, Benjamin Imai, Edwin Cheluget and Peris Muthoni, CEO Peter Leley and Secretariat staff, held discussions on decentralisation of NPSC services, police welfare, counselling and psychosocial support, gender representation, career progression, promotions, infrastructure and other interventions to improve service delivery.

The engagements also provided an opportunity to review the Nairobi Region Office's progress since its establishment in March 2024. The office has grown from seven to 21 staff and expanded its reach through counselling services, NPSC mandate sensitisation, financial literacy programmes and CSR initiatives for children of police officers.

The delegation also engaged senior police officers at the National Criminal Investigations Academy, where key issues raised included housing for junior officers, retirement and benefits, promotions, transfer allowances, career progression guidelines, psychosocial support and the development of a consolidated Human Resource Policy for the National Police Service.

The engagements will continue across the Central, North Eastern and Coast regions as the Commission strengthens the decentralisation of its services and explores the expanded welfare mandate under the National Police Service Commission (Amendment) Act, 2025.

Chairperson Dr. Amani Komora joined H.E. Deputy President of the Republic of Kenya Prof. Kithure Kindiki and Interior & National Administration Cabinet Secretary Hon. Kipchumba Murkomen for the commissioning of Wanini Kireri Magereza Level IV Hospital and the 27th Kenya Prisons Service Officer Cadet Passing Out Parade at the Prison Staff Training College, Ruiru.

The occasion marked a significant milestone in strengthening healthcare services within the Kenya Prisons Service and celebrating the graduation of a new cadre of dedicated officers committed to serving and safeguarding the nation.

NPSC Chairperson, Dr. Amani Komora, today held a courtesy meeting with the British High Commissioner Matt Baugh, at the British High Commission.

Dr. Komora was accompanied by the Vice Chairperson, Prof. Collette Suda, and Commissioner Angeline Siparo.

The meeting provided an opportunity for the two parties to explore areas of strategic cooperation and identify opportunities for strengthening collaboration between the Commission and the United Kingdom.

Dr. Komora also briefed the British High Commissioner on the Commission’s history, constitutional mandate and key milestones since its establishment. The engagement underscored the importance of continued partnerships in supporting effective policing, institutional strengthening and the Commission’s mandate in promoting a professional and accountable National Police Service.

NPSC Chairperson Dr Amani Yuda Komora and Commissioner Angeline Siparo represented the National Police Service Commission at the Beyond 2030 Consultative Forum held at the CBK Institute of Monetary Studies.

They joined State Officers, sector representatives and other stakeholders in a candid dialogue on Kenya’s long-term development trajectory beyond Vision 2030.

As a Constitutional Commission established under Article 246 of the Constitution, the NPSC remains committed to contributing to national conversations that shape Kenya’s future.
