It was pomp and colour during the first day of the National Biosafety Awareness forum at KMTC Mumias East Campus. Various government agencies among them NBA took thousands of participants on their mandate in supporting government effort to address the issues of food security and nutrition in the Country.

PUBLIC AWARENESS
Thousands of Mumias East residents in Kakamega County on Thursday 28th May 2026 turned out in large numbers during the first day of awareness creation on GMOs and emerging technologies organised by the National Biosafety Authority(NBA) in collaboration with County Government of Kakamega. The event also saw several exhibitors from government agencies showcase what they do in various sectors of the economy. NBA Chairman Mr. David Wamatsi assured Kenyans the Authority core mandate is to ensure safety of Kenyans by regulating GMOs.
