Madaraka Day reminds us of the courage, sacrifice and vision of those who laid the foundation for our nation's self-governance and development. Their struggle secured our freedom and the opportunity for every Kenyan to contribute to the building of a prosperous and united nation.

This year's theme, "Education: Skills and the Future," is both timely and relevant. In a rapidly changing world, where technology is reshaping economies and the nature of work, Kenya's greatest asset remains the knowledge, skills and resilience of her people.

Joined H.E. President William Ruto, fellow leaders and wananchi in Wajir County to mark the 63rd Madaraka Day celebrations. It is historic that, for the first time, the national celebration is being held in the North Eastern region of Kenya, a powerful affirmation that every part of our country matters and has a role to play in our shared future.

As we celebrate our progress as a nation, may we continue investing in our people and empowering future generations to build a stronger, more prosperous Kenya.
