The National Beekeeping Institute is actively participating in the 2026 Pre-Madaraka Day celebrations in Wajir County.

The event provides an important platform for the Institute to showcase training opportunities, technologies, innovations, and the growing potential within the apiculture sector. Through these engagements, we continue to promote sustainable beekeeping and create awareness on the many opportunities available across the value chain.

As we connect with communities and stakeholders, we warmly welcome all aspiring and practicing beekeepers to grow with us.

Applications are still ongoing for our Basic Beekeeping Course taking place from 15th–19th June 2026, as well as the Certificate in Apiculture Course beginning in August 2026.

Swarming is nature’s way of helping bee colonies grow and reproduce; and for beekeepers, preparation during this season is everything.

At the NBI– Lenana, our Colony Management department is already preparing and setting up catcher boxes to safely manage and collect swarms when the season begins.

A lot of beekeeping happens before the bees even arrive.

🐝🍯 We have successfully concluded our Value Addition of Bee Products Course held from 18th–22nd May 2026 at the National Beekeeping Institute–Lenana.

Throughout the week, participants gained hands-on skills in honey processing, packaging, product development, and value addition — transforming hive products into greater economic opportunities.

👏 Congratulations to all participants for successfully completing the training.
