We have officially welcomed the first learners for the One-Year Certificate in Apiculture Course at the National Beekeeping Institute (NBI)-Lenana.🐝🍯

🐝 KENYA’S BEEKEEPING HIVE KEEPS EXPANDING! 🍯
The National Beekeeping Institute (NBI)-Lenana has successfully concluded this month’s Basic Beekeeping Course, with 36 participants drawn from different parts of the country graduating after acquiring practical skills and knowledge in modern beekeeping practices.

🐝 The training equipped learners with essential skills in bee management, hive handling, and sustainable apiculture practices, preparing them to establish and grow successful beekeeping enterprises.
Through continuous capacity building, NBI Lenana continues to empower beekeepers and contribute to the growth of Kenya’s apiculture value chain, supporting sustainable livelihoods and agricultural development.

Bridging Borders Through Beekeeping Knowledge 🐝🇰🇪🇿🇼

Yesterday, the National Beekeeping Institute – Lenana welcomed a delegation from Zimbabwe for an insightful visit focused on knowledge exchange, collaboration and exploring the future of apiculture.

The delegation had an opportunity to learn about the Institute’s mandate, training programmes, research, value addition initiatives and the role NBI–Lenana continues to play in advancing sustainable beekeeping in Kenya.

Through an engaging institutional tour, discussions and shared experiences, the visit highlighted the power of regional partnerships in strengthening the beekeeping sector across Africa.
