This is the official page of the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS), a State Corporation established under the Universities Act, 2012. It is established under the Universities Act of 2012 to coordinate the placement of government-sponsored students to various programmes in universities and colleges. Our role is also to disseminate information on available p

rogrammes, their costs and the areas of study prioritised by the government; and to develop career guidance programmes for the benefit of students. This way, we aim to maximise the number of students enrolling in tertiary institutions under government sponsorship. Additionally, we collect and retain data relating to university and college placement, and advise the government on matters relating to university and college student placement.

The 17th Inter-University Council for East Africa (IUCEA) Annual Conference and Annual Meeting is happening in Nairobi from July 29th to 31st 2026. KUCCPS is glad to be part of conversations on the future of higher education in East Africa happening at the forum.

Over the past week, KUCCPS has conducted career sensitisation forums in Bungoma County, in collaboration with Bungoma County Directorate of Education. The activities were held across six sub-counties of Tongaren, Bungoma North, Bungoma East, Mt. Elgon, Kopsiro, and Cheptais, reaching over 120 teachers, 2,200 secondary school students (Form 3 & 4) and 1,600 junior school learners.

The sessions covered career planning and selection, student placement, Competency-Based Education (CBE), and the use of the KUCCPS Career Expert System, an online tool for matching learners to possible career paths.

A huge thank you to school principals, teachers, and Bungoma County Government for their collaboration in the initiative.

KUCCPS has concluded a five-day career guidance outreach series of activities in Migori County, during which 5,000 learners from 32 junior schools in Kuria West and Rongo Constituencies were sensitised. The campaign concluded on Friday with sessions at Nyankore Comprehensive School (12 schools, 1,475 learners and 13 teachers), Kuja Comprehensive School for the Deaf (one school, 84 learners and 6 teachers), and Kuja Special Secondary School (one school, 302 learners and 15 teachers). KUCCPS is committed to ensuring that learners in all parts of Kenya access career guidance services.

Form Four leavers applying for university placement during the current late degree application window are getting instant placement, KUCCPS Chief Executive Officer Dr. Agnes Mercy Wahome has announced.

She spoke today during a sensitisation forum held at Uriri High School in Migori County, hosted by Uriri MP Hon. Mark Nyamita. Also present were HELB CEO Mr. Geoffrey Monari and Universities Fund Ag. CEO Dr. Edwin Wanyonyi, among other officials.

KUCCPS has opened its online application system for qualified KCSE holders from the year 2022 to 2025 who missed university placement to apply for instant placement.
