Mount Kenya Development Movement (MKDM)

MKDM is a citizen-driven, non-political, non-profit socioeconomic development network of friends of the Mt. Kenya region, formed and organized to bring about unity behind the development agenda, away from political rhetoric. It is not aligned to any political camp neither is the Chairman running for any political seat. He is simply doing what he does best which is to bring people together and rallying them behind his vision for a more enabled and endowed society.
We are in the process of populating our leadership structures prior to launching our organization, under formation.

The organization we are going to form shall be a paid members organization, with an optional group investment scheme tied to it.
The county office holders will have leadership jurisdiction over their counties, constituencies and wards. They will steer the organizations projects and programs.
The discussions being held in the what's app forums will assist us firm up our blueprint which will be implemented by the proposed organization so let's keep discussions relevant to our agenda. We will host workshops after launching our organization whose pillars shall be:

PROPOSED MT. KENYA INTERNATIONAL INVESTMENT & DEVELOPMENT CONFERENCE, 2019
As part of the meetings we hope to have, we propose to host a first ever, "JOINT" Mt. Kenya International Investment & Development Conference. The theme of the conference will be *“Strength & Wealth - Unlocking the Economic Potential of Mt. Kenya region”*. We will require the most favorable proposals for hosting the same within the year 2019, for approximately 5,000 delegates, including conference banqueting, exhibition, accommodation and entertainment.
The envisaged investment and development conference will attract international, regional and local investors, development donor partners, national government, county governments, entrepreneurs and tenderpreneurs together from within and outside the Mt. Kenya region. We also expect a wide representation from the private sector and thirteen county governments, namely, Nyeri, Kiambu, Murang’a, Laikipia, Nyandarua, Kirinyaga, Meru, Embu, Isiolo, Samburu, Tharaka Nithi, Nakuru & Nairobi, as well as representation from National government and state corporations.
We purpose to form a strategic steering committee from amongst ourselves, to spearhead the planning of this proposed conference, which we believe will have a great impact for the socioeconomic development of the Mt. Kenya region and for Kenya as a whole. Through it, we will put Mt. Kenya region on the map, its sectors, peoples and showcase its potential as a key stakeholder and driver of the Kenyan economy. We will also be able to attract billions of dollars in foreign direct investments and development donor support for our infrastructure programmes.
