*STRATEGIZE or PERISH TOGETHER*
As they say, art is a reflection of the society, so are the leaders a reflection of the voters. This might sound cynical but in the contemporary world, it could be the uncomfortable truth.
What started online as the Gen Z movement was along the way hijacked by goons, politicians, and other miscreants with nefarious motives. The Kenyan police have always been the same; you can change the IG, CS, PS, or regional commandant but the one on the ground is still the cruel one that you besmirch, vilify, patronize, and hurl expletives at.
So, my free and unsolicited advice is this – the resources we use for hospitals, cash bails, and burials, and the invaluable knowledge we possess, can be used to change the electorates. The idea is good, the plights are brilliant and genuine, but the rudimentary approach is not so pragmatic in a society where majority in the villages are still soaked in
a)Ignorance,
b)hero worshipping, c)manufactured poverty, d)unprecedented sycophancy.
We should have a structured approach. Focus on civic education and ground mobilization; 97% of Kenyans are not on X, majority never register as voters, and even some of those who register never vote.
We should have ideological voices in every county, constituency, and ward. We Talk to the people and convince them not with the anger that inflames their emotions, but with the firmness that opens their eyes and minds.
Tell them why they need change that we advocate for, ensure they get IDs and register as voters.
We have the most potent shot at 2027 if the momentum remains alive and rejuvenated; and the reality is that it is the only way we will overhaul the system in its entirety.
We can have a President like Omtata but he will be helpless without members of parliament and senators that resonate with his plan, governors that will implement your plan in the counties, or MCAs that will ensure the county assemblies do what is right.
We will need a party with majority in the two houses, have leaders of majority and a speaker. That, now, is a structured approach.
If you ask me, the greatest hurdle we have right now in achieving anything tangible in this country is parliament; it is compromised, venal, full of semi-illiterates, and at the mercy of the executive. At some point, you will need MPs in all constituencies, senators and governors in all counties, MCAs, and woman reps that align with our agenda. The question is – do we have them? Time is of essence. The gallantry portrayed by the movement so far has been absolutely marvelous, but there is need for change of tact.
Our enemy has studied us and remember he’s been in the arena longer than most of us. Doing the same thing over and over again yet expecting different results is the epitome of idiocy. Starting early defeated going to a witch doctor!!!!
