That must have been the consensus.

Jana I told some young men who requested to 'es**rt' me to safety as I drove off towards home- "please do not harm any woman today, should things go south."

Perhaps I should have added do not destroy property. This is wrong. Looting and destruction of private businesses in Naivasha today is totally uncalled for.

I witnessed firsthand how energetic these youths are. How trigger-easy they are. And how quickly they'd do anything for hand-outs.These youngsters and the goonism culture rapidly growing countrywide will be something regrettable in 2027.

Imagine waking up one day and realizing a neighbouring country can now partly influence fuel prices in Kenya.

That is exactly what is happening through the KPC share sale.

Uganda can now partly influence fuel prices in Kenya after the government handed it significant powers within the Kenya Pipeline Company.

And the scary part?
Uganda owns only 20.15%, yet it reportedly got veto powers over pipeline tariffs.
Meaning they can object when tariffs go down if it affects KPC revenue, and even keep prices up.

So while Kenyans cry over high fuel prices, Uganda now has leverage inside the system that determines those costs.

They also reportedly secured:
• Veto power on dividend policy
• Influence over hiring/firing the CEO
• Veto on restructuring decisions
• Two seats on the KPC board

This is not a small company.
This is strategic national infrastructure.

How do you give this level of control away and expect Kenyans not to be alarmed? No serious country would allow this.

Nakuru at a standstill.

Stopped en route to Lanet for a friend's function.

Beyond the Wantam and Tutam slogans... must think. must critically question how we get here every time.

Fuel prices must come down.
The cost of living must come down.

Business groups and consumers argue Kenya’s fuel taxes are among the heaviest in East Africa.
Heavy taxation and multiple layered levies have been causing the same problem thus continuing to overburden the taxpayer at the fuel pump and other spiralling effects.

Total Shutdown Monday.

Beyond the Wantam and Ruto Must Go slogans...are we really scrutinizing the agendas that are being offered by the various presidential candidates?

In 2022 I made my bed by voting for Ruto. This time round I will not just be guided by a Wantam slogan.
