Happy Mashujaa Day! Today, we celebrate our incredible rangers for their unwavering dedication and tireless efforts in conserving the Mara ecosystem. Their commitment to protecting wildlife and preserving our natural heritage is truly admirable.

In order to enhance conservation in the Mara ecosystem, it is essential for us to come together as a united front. Our boots on the ground play a pivotal role in achieving sustainable and progressive milestones.

To improve ranger productivity and proficiency in conservation technology, we joined other conservancies at the MEP headquarters for a 'Train the Trainers' course supported by the Basecamp Explorer Foundation. The goal of this program is to equip participants with skills that they can share with their colleagues in their respective conservancies, thereby elevating ranger skill sets across the ecosystem.

We look forward to more fruitful engagements that will positively impact our conservation efforts. A special thanks to the Mara Elephant Project and Basecamp Foundation for this fantastic initiative.

In memory of the late Kisaru !

Queen of the Northern Conservancies~ Kisaru !!

We’re grieved to announce the death of our successful mother cheetah…Kisaru ! This incident has happened in the Masai Mara National Game Reserve & possibly killed by lions ! We’ve seen Kisaru raised all her litters in our Conservancy….the latest being the two in the video. Kisaru is famous for raising six cubs in her first litter and one of his son, Olomunyak, is still doing well in the Northern Conservancies.

WE’LL ABSOLUTELY MISS YOU KISARU❤️

The lions are regarded as the super-predators of the African savanna ! This comes to account because of their tremendous power, extraordinary teamwork and superior limbing or agile ability.

These lions were seen today by our patrol team venturing and in pursuit of a hunt.

The Cheetah is classified as a vulnerable species by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). This’s because its numbers have declined in recent years owing to the reduction in its habitat and food resources caused by environmental deterioration and poaching.

Adult life for a cheetah in the wild is difficult. Cheetahs in the wild (both male and female combined) have an average age span of 10 – 12 years. The average lifespan of an adult male in the wild skews lower (8 years), due in part to territorial conflicts with competing groups of males. Adult mortality is one of the most significant limiting factors for the growth and survival of the wild cheetah population.
