MEMBERS OF NAROK COUNTY POLICING AUTHORITY
SIX [6] POSTS
Pursuant to section 41 (1) and (2) of the National Police Service Act 2011, the Narok
County Public Service Board wishes to recruit competent and qualied persons to
serve as members in the County Policing Authority.
Persons applying for this post should be a resident of Narok County. Members
appointed shall serve a term of two years and shall be eligible for one further term. The
applicants should be recommended by either of these bodies listed below:-
i. Business sector- through the Chamber of Commerce
ii. Community Based Organizations- through the County social services department
iii. Persons with special needs- through the County Associations of Persons with
Disability
iv. Religious Organizations- through the local chapter of Episcopal, CIPK, SUPKEM,
NCCK
v. Women- through Maendeleo ya Wanawake
vi. Youth- through the County Director of Youth
Functions of the authority shall be to:-
(a) Develop proposals on priorities, objectives and targets for police performance in
the county;
(b) Monitor trends and patterns of crime in the County including those with a specic
impact on the women and children;
(c) Promote community policing initiatives in the County;
(d) Monitor progress and achievements of the targets;
(e) Provide nancial oversight of the budget of the County Police;
(f) Provide feedback on performance of the police service at the county level;
(g) Provide platform through which the public participate on all aspects to do with
county policing and the National police service at County level;
(h) Facilitate public participation on the County policing policy;
(i) Ensure policing accountability to the public;
(j) Receive reports from community policing forums and committees; and
(k) Ensure compliance with the national policing standards.
Requirement for appointment
A person shall be qualied for appointment as a member, if that person:-
(i) Is a Kenyan Citizen.
(ii) Satisfy the requirement of the chapter six (6) on the Constitution of Kenya 2010.
(iii) Must have a minimum qualication of KCSE education or its equivalent.
(iv) Should be of good character and moral standing.
(v) Should not have been convicted of a felony.
(vi) Must be a resident or employed or conducts business in Narok County for a
continuous period of not less than three years.
(vii) Has not been removed from oce for a contravention of the Constitution or other
law.
(viii) Has not in the conduct of his or her aairs contravened any statutory obligations.
Applicants must:
(i) Attach clearance certicate from CID (Certicate of Good Conduct)
(ii) Indicate Sub-County and Ward of residence.
(iii) Submit application attaching copies of National Identity Card, Tax Compliance
certicate, Ethics and Anti-corruption Commission clearance form, HELB
clearance certicate, Curriculum Vitae, academic and professionals certicates.

Canvassing in any form or failure to attach any of stipulated documents shall lead to
automatic disqualication.
