Kenya Maritime Authority, in partnership with Friends of the Universe Climate Change Adaption Society (FOUCASS) , Kenya Forest Service (KFS), and Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS), successfully planted 22,000 mangrove seedlings in Shimoni, Kwale County, as part of ongoing efforts to restore and conserve Kenya’s coastal ecosystems.

The initiative brought together stakeholders committed to environmental sustainability, climate action, and the protection of marine biodiversity.
The tree-planting exercise also aligns with Kenya’s broader national goals on ecosystem restoration and increasing forest cover.
