Inside the ADAK–SDT Drive to Strengthen Anti-Doping Adjudication

The Sports Disputes Tribunal (SDT) remains a cornerstone in safeguarding fairness, integrity, and due process within Kenya’s sporting landscape. As the body responsible for adjudicating doping-related disputes, the SDT plays a vital role in ensuring that cases are handled independently, fairly, and in line with the World Anti-Doping Code and international best practices.

Led by ADAK Ag.CEO Ms. Peninah Wahome, SDT Acting Chairperson Hon. Allan Mola, SDT CEO Dr. Leah W. Kaburu, and CAS Arbitrator Mr. John Ohaga SC (former SDT Chairman) and Ms. Njeri Onyango SC Chairperson of the Continental Results Management Panel), ADAK held a capacity-building workshop for members of the SDT. The session provided deeper insight into ADAK’s procedures and strengthened the Tribunal’s understanding of the technical and legal aspects involved in athlete case hearings.

The workshop further underscored the importance of continued collaboration between ADAK and the SDT in building a robust, transparent, and harmonized anti-doping system. Through such partnerships, Kenya continues to strengthen its commitment to clean sport, credible adjudication, and preparedness for the implementation of the 2027 World Anti-Doping Code.

CLEAN SPORTS STARTS LONG BEFORE COMPETITION DAY

Every clean sporting achievement begins with strong systems of protection beyond the field of play.

As frontline guardians of Kenya’s borders, Customs & Border Control officers play a critical role in preventing the infiltration, trafficking, and circulation of prohibited substances and doping medicaments into the country.

Hence why ADAK’s Department of Standards & Compliance in collaboration with the Legal Services Department, is currently undertaking a capacity building engagement for officers from the Customs & Border Control Department.

By strengthening collaboration with Customs & Border Control officers, ADAK is reinforcing one of the most critical lines of defense against the trafficking and movement of prohibited substances.

Celebrating the spirit of clean competition! 🇰🇪✨

Yesterday marked the grand finale of the 2026 Rausha Kipaji Tournament in Nakuru. After four days of intense action and clean sport education, we were honored to have ADAK Board Member Mr. Peter Omingo and Ag. CEO Peninah Wahome join the closing ceremony to celebrate our young champions.

The highlight of the day? The presentation of the 2026 Fair Play/Play True Award to the school that truly embodied the values of integrity and sportsmanship over the course of the tournament. 🏆

From the outreach sessions at Nakuru Athletics Club and Nakuru Girls Senior School to the final whistle, it’s been an incredible journey fostering a culture of clean sport among over 400 teams.

Way to go to all the athletes, coaches, and support personnel who committed to playing true!

Today we showed up with purpose 💥

As we marked WADA Play True Day at the 2026 Rausha Kipaji Tournament in Nakuru County, clean sport educators were on the ground delivering Values-Based Education to athletes, coaches, and support teams across both venues.

The focus was simple and necessary—building a generation that understands integrity, respects fair play, and competes the right way. Conversations on the risks of doping and the importance of making informed, ethical choices were at the heart of every session.

Because true victory goes beyond the scoreboard.
