For the people of Alego-Usonga and overall the people of Siaya, the expansion of Siaya County Referral Hospital speaks directly to a longstanding challenge: access to adequate and timely healthcare.
Residents have for years raised concerns about overcrowded wards, limited bed capacity, pressure on maternity services and limited healthcare staff.
π§ππ π’π‘ππ’ππ‘π ππ«π£ππ‘π¦ππ’π‘, supported by the National Government in partnership with the County Government of Siaya, is an important step towards addressing these challenges and bringing more specialised care closer to home.

We will have stronger referral services and for Nyanza, the potential for more specialised treatment closer to families and less reliance on long-distance referrals.
