*📢 FREE OBSTETRICS & GYNECOLOGY SURGICAL CAMP – REGISTRATION IS ONGOING!*
The County Government of Vihiga, under the visionary leadership of H.E. Dr. Wilberforce A. Ottichillo, EGH, Governor of Vihiga County, continues to strengthen access to quality and specialized healthcare through strategic partnerships. In collaboration with TEAM LA and Operation International, Vihiga Teaching & Referral Hospital *(VTRH)* is pleased to invite women to a Free Obstetrics & Gynecology Surgical Camp scheduled to take place from 2nd – 6th August 2026, from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily at Vihiga Teaching & Referral Hospital (VTRH).

This noble initiative has been made possible through the dedication and leadership of *Hon. Dr. Nicholas Kitungulu, CECM for Health Services,* whose commitment to improving healthcare services continues to transform lives across Vihiga County.

The camp will offer:
✅ General Obstetrics & Gynecology screening and consultation.
✅ Diagnostic services, including imaging and laboratory investigations.
✅ Specialized surgical procedures such as:

💡Myomectomy

💡Cystectomy

💡Laparoscopic Hysterectomy

The camp is particularly intended for women experiencing:

●Uterine fibroids

●Ovarian cysts

●Pelvic organ prolapse

●Urinary incontinence
and Other related gynecological conditions

Women with the above conditions are encouraged to visit the *nearest health facility or VTRH for screening, assessment, registration, and booking* before the camp begins. Early registration will help ensure timely preparation and smooth service delivery.

Hon Dr KITUNGULU Nicholas joined other health stakeholders to review the progress of the ongoing health sector reforms.
In his remarks, he highlighted the Prolonged downtime of the SHA SYSTEM that is Disrupting Smooth Service Delivery pointing out key concerns: Patient Registration, SHA claims processing and reimbursement to health facilities.
In conclusion he emphasised on the need for Counties to Professionalise Community Health Promoters ( CHPs) and ensure their compensation is timely.
