Ten years ago, Sophea was a teenager with a dream.
Today, she is a social worker helping vulnerable children build brighter futures.❤️

When people ask why we believe in long-term support for girls, stories like Sophea's are the answer.

From Debate Floor to Real-World Impact 🎤🌏

Our Country Director, Sokleap, was honored to serve as a judge at the 6th Youth Perspective Debate, where young voices took on the powerful theme: "Gender Equality and the Digital Gap." 💻⚖️

The conversations couldn't be more timely. Technology-Facilitated Gender-Based Violence (TFGBV) is one of the most urgent human rights challenges of our era. From cyber harassment and non-consensual intimate image sharing to cyberstalking and sextortion, 97% of GBV survivors report experiencing technology-facilitated abuse. These are not distant statistics; they are the lived reality of too many girls and young women.

This reality is exactly why AusCam Freedom Project's mission matters more than ever. In Cambodia, AusCam walks alongside adolescent girls at high risk, ending trafficking and exploitation before it begins by providing protection, education, life skills training, and career counseling. Every day, AusCam works to ensure that girls are not only safe from offline dangers but equipped to navigate and thrive in an increasingly digital world closing the very digital gender gap the debate brought to light.

Because when a girl is educated, protected, and empowered online and offline — she becomes unstoppable. 🚀💡

Empowering Her Through Knowledge 💙

Through our partnership with Precious Women Organization, we recently led an awareness raising session on Online Child Sexual Exploitation — equipping girls and women with the knowledge to recognise risks, stay safe online, and make informed choices for a brighter future.

Awareness is the first line of defence. Together, we're building safer communities.

Last week, our team had a meaningful dialogue with parents from ChanYun International School to discuss online safety and child protection.

The conversation focused on the risks children may face online and the important role parents can play in keeping their children safe, informed, and supported. Parents openly shared their concerns, experiences, and ideas with our staff, helping us better understand the challenges families face.

These valuable insights will support us in developing stronger initiatives to protect girls and create safer environments where they can grow, learn, and thrive.

>Some are being blackmailed with intimate images.
>Some have been groomed online.
>Some are frightened, isolated and unsure who to trust.

But almost every story begins the same way.
With vulnerability.

That's why we believe prevention matters so much.
And when prevention isn't enough, someone needs to answer the call.

Today, our social workers support more than 100 vulnerable girls across Cambodia.

They answer calls late at night.
They respond to crises.
They provide counselling, protection and hope.

Over the past few weeks, our Career Counselling and Mentoring (CCM) Peer Mentors successfully facilitated workshops on CV writing and job interview skills, equipping participants with practical tools for their career journeys.👩‍💻🌟

Held at the SHINE HQ space — is a safe, vibrant space where vulnerable girls find protection, healing, and hope — the CV writing workshop provided tailored guidance to around 10 participants, helping them strengthen their applications and better present their skills and experiences. In addition, the job interview workshop engaged more than 35 participants, who joined to gain key insights and build confidence in preparing for interviews.

These sessions created a valuable space for both participants and facilitators to learn from one another, share experiences, and support each other toward securing meaningful employment opportunities.🌱
