សហគមន៍រឹងមាំ ចាប់ផ្តើមពីភាពជាអ្នកដឹកនាំ និងការគ្រប់គ្រងប្រកបដោយចីរភាព 🌿

គណៈកម្មការ និងសមាជិកសហគមន៍តំបន់ការពារធម្មជាតិ មកពីខេត្តបាត់ដំបង និងពោធិ៍សាត់ បានពង្រឹងសមត្ថភាពលើ ការរៀបចំផែនការគ្រប់គ្រងសហគមន៍ ការធ្វើផែនការអាជីវកម្ម និងការគ្រប់គ្រងហិរញ្ញវត្ថុប្រកបដោយតម្លាភាព និងគណនេយ្យភាព។

ក្រៅពីការទទួលបានចំណេះដឹងបច្ចេកទេស សិក្ខាកាមក៏បានរួមគ្នាវិភាគសក្តានុពលសហគមន៍ កំណត់អាទិភាពសម្រាប់ការអភិវឌ្ឍ និងរៀបចំផែនការ ដើម្បីពង្រឹងការគ្រប់គ្រងធនធានធម្មជាតិ ជីវភាពរស់នៅ ក៏ដូចជានិរន្តរភាពរបស់សហគមន៍។

Strong communities begin with good leadership and management. 🌿

Community Protected Area (CPA) committee and members from Battambang and Pursat provinces strengthened their capacity in community management planning, business planning, and transparent and accountable financial management.

Beyond technical knowledge, participants assessed their communities' potential, identified development priorities, and developed practical plans to strengthen natural resource management, improve livelihoods, and promote sustainable community development.

By strengthening the leadership and management capacity of CPAs, the PCRL Project is helping communities become more resilient to climate change, conserve natural resources, and create a more sustainable future for local people.

🌾 Over the past week, the PCRL project conducted Quality Declared Seed (QDS) system training for agricultural communities in Kampong Thom, Siem Reap, and Banteay Meanchey provinces.

The training equipped farmer groups with practical knowledge on producing high-quality rice seed that meets national technical standards, including certification procedures, field inspection, quality control, documentation, seed processing and storage, and seed sampling. A strong seed system is fundamental to improving agricultural productivity and resilience. By adopting the QDS system, farming communities can produce reliable, high-quality seed, gain greater market confidence, access better market opportunities, and strengthen their livelihoods.

Through PCRL's support, farming communities are building the knowledge and capacity needed to establish sustainable, climate-resilient seed production systems that contribute to Cambodia's long-term food security and rural prosperity.

🌾 Strengthening climate-resilient rice seed production

The PCRL project, together with the Department of Rice Crop Development, conducted field monitoring visits in Kampong Thom and Siem Reap provinces to assess the progress of rice seed production, provide technical guidance, and discuss challenges with target seed producer groups.

Through PCRL's support, more than 6,270 kg of registered Phka Rumduol rice seed has been distributed to 105 farmers for cultivation across nearly 155 hectares in the two provinces. Field observations showed that farmers are increasingly applying Qulaity Declared Seed (QDS) production system and adopting agricultural mechanization to improve productivity, reduce production costs, and address labor shortages.

These monitoring visits play an important role in ensuring high-quality seed production while strengthening farmers' resilience to climate change through improved agricultural practices.

The PCRL project in Banteay Meanchey province organized consultation meetings with agricultural cooperatives, producer groups, local authorities, and Khmer Foods to discuss contract farming opportunities for Phka Rumduol rice in Svay Chek and Preah Netr Preah districts.

The meetings provided a platform for producers and buyers to exchange information on market demand, production requirements, and potential contract arrangements. The discussions also helped strengthen partnerships between farming communities and the private sector, an important step toward securing reliable markets and encouraging quality rice production.

As a result, 317 farming households registered and expressed interest in producing Phka Rumduol and Sen Kra-Ob 01 rice across more than 1,200 hectares, with an estimated production volume of 3,384 tons for potential supply to Khmer Foods.

This emerging partnership demonstrates the value of contract farming in strengthening the rice value chain, building trust between producers and buyers, and creating more stable market opportunities for farmers, in line with the PCRL project's goal of enhancing livelihoods and resilience among farming communities.

ក្នុងខែមិថុនា ឆ្នាំ២០២៦ គម្រោង PCRL ខេត្តពោធិ៍សាត់ បានផ្តល់ការគាំទ្របច្ចេកទេសដល់សមាជិកសាលារៀនស្រែកសិករ ចំនួន ៧២នាក់ ក្នុងនោះស្ត្រី ៤៥នាក់ នៅសហគមន៍តំបន់ការពារធម្មជាតិទឹកធ្លាក់ច្រកល្អៀង និងភូមិទំព័រ។

តាមរយៈការចែករំលែកបទពិសោធន៍ និងការចុះពិនិត្យដល់គេហដ្ឋានផ្ទាល់ កសិករបានបង្ហាញពីការខិតខំយកចំណេះដឹងដែលទទួលបានពីវគ្គបណ្តុះបណ្តាលទៅអនុវត្តជាក់ស្តែង។ គ្រួសារមួយចំនួនអាចពង្រីកការចិញ្ចឹមមាន់បានរហូតដល់ ៥០–១០០ក្បាល ដែលបង្ហាញពីសក្តានុពលនៃការចិញ្ចឹមមាន់សម្រាប់បង្កើនចំណូល និងកាត់បន្ថយភាពងាយរងគ្រោះផ្នែកសេដ្ឋកិច្ច។

Chicken raising is more than a source of nutritious food; it is an important pathway for rural households to diversify income, strengthen food security, and build resilience against climate-related shocks. 🐔

In June 2026, the PCRL Project in Pursat Province conducted follow-up monitoring and technical coaching for 72 Farmer Field School (FFS) members, including 45 women, in Chrok Laeang Waterfall and Tompor Community Protected Areas.

Through household visits and farmer discussions, participants demonstrated how they have applied newly acquired knowledge in practice. Many households have successfully expanded their poultry production to between 50 and 100 chickens, which highlights the growing role of small-scale livestock production in strengthening household livelihoods.

Farmers also discussed challenges, including poultry diseases, chick mortality, and the increasing impacts of extreme weather conditions. By providing hands-on technical support and tailored advice, the project is helping farmers improve poultry management practices and adapt their production systems to the changing climate.

PCRL promotes livelihood diversification through farmer field schools (FFS) 🌱

The PCRL Project conducted FFS training sessions in Battambang and Siem Reap provinces to strengthen farmers’ knowledge and practical skills in cassava production. In Siem Reap, the training also focused on land preparation techniques for cashew cultivation, helping farmers establish a strong foundation for productive and sustainable cashew farming.

Through hands-on learning and field-based demonstrations, participating farmers gained practical knowledge on seed selection, land preparation, soil fertility management, efficient use of agricultural inputs, and sustainable cultivation techniques aimed at improving yields, reducing production costs, and enhancing long-term productivity.

These activities are part of PCRL’s efforts to promote livelihood diversification, create greater economic opportunities for rural households, and strengthen community resilience to climate change. By supporting farmers with improved agricultural knowledge and fostering sustainable land-use practices, the project contributes to increased household income while encouraging the conservation and sustainable management of natural resources for future generations.
