πŸ”₯πŸš’ Big or Small, Fire Safety for All! πŸš’πŸ”₯

The St. Kitts National Council on Drug Abuse Prevention was pleased to partner with the St Kitts-Nevis Fire & Rescue Services - Sknfrs during their Summer Camp under the theme: β€œHelp Us to Help You: Fire Safety Is What We Do.”

With the assistance of our Executive Officer Mrs. Doyling, Drug Prevention Officer Ms. Ishelle Huggins led campers through an engaging session that showed how fire safety and drug prevention share an important message: the choices we make matter. πŸ’‘

Through games, discussions, and the β€œSeeds of Greatness” activity, campers explored how healthy habits, strong values, education, family support, and positive choices help them grow into responsible, resilient, and empowered citizens. 🌱✨

From learning how to make safe decisions to understanding the importance of resisting peer pressure and protecting themselves and others, the campers were reminded that small positive choices today can lead to a safer, healthier tomorrow. πŸ’š

A heartfelt thank you to the St Kitts-Nevis Fire & Rescue Services - Sknfrs for allowing us to be part of such an impactful programme. Together, we continue planting the seeds for a stronger, safer, and healthier future. πŸ™ŒπŸ½

Lead the Charge: Stay Sharp, Remain Sober πŸ’ͺπŸ½πŸ‡°πŸ‡³

On 6 June, our Drug Misuse Intervention Officer, Ms. Nigenda Walters facilitated a substance use awareness session with members of the St Kitts Nevis Defence Force, including personnel from the St Kitts Nevis Coast Guard.

Guided by the theme "Lead the Charge: Stay Sharp, Remain Sober," the session explored the importance of recognising substance misuse as a potential challenge, particularly when faced with the pressures and demands of military service.

Through engaging discussions and interactive scenario-based activities, participants explored how unhealthy coping behaviours can affect personal well-being, judgement, teamwork and operational readiness. They also learned to recognise the warning signs, make informed decisions and develop healthier ways to manage the demands of service while upholding the discipline, responsibility and resilience that define military life.

A sincere thank you to the St Kitts Nevis Defence Force for partnering with us and making this session possible. Your commitment to the well-being and readiness of your personnel demonstrates the importance of investing in prevention, education and resilience.

Together, we're building stronger individuals, stronger teams and a stronger nationβ€”one informed choice at a time.

🌍 Today, we stand with the world in observing the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.🚭πŸ₯ƒπŸ’Š

This year's theme, "World Drug Problem: Persisting Issues, New Challenges, Innovative Responses," reminds us that while the challenges continue to evolve, so can our response.

Every conversation that educates, every act of kindness that uplifts, and every opportunity we create for our young people helps build stronger families and safer communities.

Together, let's continue choosing hope over harm, support over stigma, and unity over silence. πŸ’šπŸ’›β€οΈ

A healthier, brighter future for St. Kitts and Nevis starts with all of us.
