To Our Fathers Everywhere 💚

To every father - whether you’re raising children at home, supporting from afar, mentoring a young person, or simply doing your best each day - your presence matters.

Today, the Department of Community Development and Social Services celebrates fathers here in St. Kitts and Nevis and throughout the diaspora. Special greetings are extended to the fathers among our clients, community groups, and the men who continue to make a positive and impactful difference in the lives of others.💚

Communities Grow When We Show Up For Each Other! 🇰🇳

Every one of us has the power to make someone’s day a little easier, a little brighter, and a little more hopeful.

A simple “How are you doing?” 🤝
A helping hand where it’s needed 👐
A word of encouragement to uplift someone’s spirit 💬🌟

These actions may seem small, but they create powerful ripples that strengthen families, neighbourhoods, communities and our nation.

At the Department of Community Development and Social Services, we champion unity, care, and empowerment across St. Kitts and Nevis 🇰🇳💛. Every citizen has a role to play in building safer, kinder, and more resilient communities.

Let’s keep choosing kindness. Let’s show up for each other, because when we support one another, our entire nation grows stronger. 🚀

Men Are Valued! 💙

The Department wholeheartedly thanks Community Development Officer Dorothy Caines and its Faith-Based partner, the Wesleyan Holiness Church, for a successful Men’s Health Symposium held June 15th.

Special appreciation is extended to Dr. Norgen Wilson, Mrs. Lucine Pemberton-Vaughn and Mr. Kamal Jeffers for their impactful presentations on men’s health and wellness. It was indeed an empowering and life-altering evening.

We encourage all men to take charge of their health - get regular check-ups, talk openly about wellness, and access available health services in your community.

Together, we continue to uplift and empower our men because men matter! 💙

🟣 World Elder Abuse Awareness Day 🟣

From the Department of Community Development and Social Services, we raise awareness today for our most vulnerable seniors - those who rely on social assistance and family support for their survival. 🤲🏽

They are NOT to be used.
They are NOT to be controlled.
They are NOT a source of financial exploitation. 💔

Too often, harm is hidden in plain sight - when pensions are maliciously taken, when assistance is withheld, or when vulnerable elders are pressured and financially exploited.

No elder who depends on support should ever be made more vulnerable because of it.

Let us ensure that assistance meant for care is never turned into opportunity for abuse. 🌿
