02 September 2026, Busan – The Philippine Consulate General in Busan welcomed Dr. Johanna Zulueta, a Filipino professor at the Faculty of Sociology of Toyo University in Tokyo, Japan.

Vice Consul Mahgie B. Lacaba, together with United Fil-Korean Family Center President Maria Cherry Anne Baek, held an extensive discussion with Dr. Zulueta on the circumstances and concerns of Filipino migrant women in the Republic of Korea (ROK).

The discussion was held in connection with Dr. Zulueta’s ongoing research on Filipino migrant women.

The Philippine Consulate General in Busan values its engagements with Filipino researchers and community organizations, recognizing their role in fostering a deeper understanding of the Filipino community and its diverse needs.

매기 B. 라카바 부영사는, 한필가족연합센터 대표인 마리아 체리 안 백과 함께 대한민국 내 필리핀 이주 여성들의 상황과 걱정들에 대해 줄루에타 박사와 심도 있는 논의를 나누었다. 논의는 줄루에타 박사가 현재 연구중인 필리핀 이주 여성과 관련하여 이루어졌다.

주부산 필리핀 총영사관은 필리핀 연구자 및 공동체 조직들과의 교류에 가치를 두고 있으며, 이들이 필리핀 공동체와 그들의 다양한 요구를 깊이 이해하는 데 중요한 역할을 하고 있음을 인정하고 있다.

1. For Overseas Voter Registration, go to the iRehistro portal which may be accessed at https://comelec.gov.ph/?r=VoterRegistration/iRehistro, and fill-out the online form.
Save the generated iRehistro form, print it out making sure all the QR codes on the second page are complete, and bring it, together with a valid Philippine Passport and a copy of the passport datapage, to the mobile registration site for the taking of biometrics.

In the absence of a valid Philippine Passport, supporting documents can be any of the following: 1) Identification Certificate and a photocopy thereof for dual citizens; 2) Seafarer's Book and a photocopy of the datapage for sea-based workers; or 3) Certification from the Consulate General for those with lost or expired passports and are eligible to apply for lost passport replacement or passport renewal.

The Philippine Consulate General in Busan and the Philippine Embassy in Seoul supported “Galing Pilipinas” at MAD STARS 2026, held from 26–28 August 2026 at the Signiel Busan Hotel, where the Philippines was featured as the Country of Focus.

Led by Adobo Magazine, “Galing Pilipinas” showcased the best of Filipino creativity through a Philippine booth featuring popular and groundbreaking Filipino marketing, advertising, and digital campaigns, Filipino weaves and crafts, and products from CITEM, Oishi, Lucky Me, Lemon Square, Papemelroti, and Guzto Banana Chips.

On 26 August, Vice Consul Mahgie B. Lacaba joined the ribbon-cutting ceremony with Adobo Magazine President and Editor-in-Chief Angel Guerrero; MAD STARS Chairperson Park TaeYoul and Vice Chairperson Ben Heo; and MAD STARS jury members Roman Calor Olivarez of TREYNA Group Philippines and Nikki Sunga of BBDO Guerrero.

The celebration continued with the Galing Pilipinas Conference on 28 August, where Deputy Head of Mission and Consul General Edwin Gil Mendoza, delivering remarks on behalf of Ambassador Bernadette Therese C. Fernandez, highlighted the power of Filipino creativity to build bridges and strengthen partnerships.

“Through creativity, we build bridges. Through innovation, we deepen partnerships. And through shared stories, we forge a future where Filipinos and creatives around the world stand together as partners in the global creative economy.”

Filipino creativity also made a strong showing at MAD STARS 2026, with Philippine agencies securing 13 awards. BBDO Guerrero led the Philippine winners with a Grand Prix for “Safetynovela” for Philippine Airlines, which also received a Crystal in Film. Leo Manila earned five awards for McDonald’s Philippines, while GIGIL received three awards for “Kween Yasmin” for Canva Philippines. TBWA\SMP received a Silver for “Boysen Color Stories” for Boysen Paints. The independent campaign “Some Nights I Feel Like Doing a Grindr Movie Tour” received a Bronze and a Crystal, while Publicis Manila received a Crystal for “The Vote Sale” for GCash and FYT PH.

“Galing” means both “from” and “excellence”—a fitting reflection of the creativity, talent, and ingenuity that Filipinos continue to bring to the global stage.

2026년 8월 26일부터 28일까지 시그니엘 부산 호텔에서 열린 2026 부산국제마케팅광고제(MAD STARS)에서 필리핀은 주목 국가로 조명되었고, 주부산 필리핀 총영사관과 주한 필리핀 대사관은 “갈링 필리피나스”(Galing Pilipinas) 행사를 지원하였다.

아도보 매거진이 이끈 “갈링 필리피나스”는 대중적이고도 획기적인 필리핀 마케팅, 광고, 디지털 캠페인, 필리핀 직물과 공예품 및 필리핀 국제무역전시기획단(CITEM), 오이시(Oishi), 럭키미(Lucky Me), 레몬 스퀘어(Lemon Square), 파페멜로티(Papemelroti), 구즈토 바나나칩의 상품들을 소개하는 필리핀 부스를 통해 필리핀의 우수한 창의력을 보여주었다.

8월 26일, 부영사 매기 B. 라카바는 아도보 매거진의 편집장이자 대표인 엔젤 게레로, 부산국제마케팅광고제(MAD STARS)의 박태열 공동 집행위원장과 허태윤 부집행위원장, 필리핀 트레이나(TREYNA) 그룹의 로만 카를로 올리바레스 심사위원, BBDO 게레로의 니키 순가 심사위원과 함께 리본 커팅식에 참여했다.

행사는 8월 28일 열린 갈링 필리피나스 컨퍼런스로 이어졌다. 이날 행사에서, 공관차석 겸 총영사인 에드윈 길 멘도자는 버나뎃 테레스 C. 페르난데스 대사를 대신해 축사를 전했으며, 필리핀의 창의성이 파트너십을 강화하는 데 필요한 가교를 놓는 힘임을 강조하였다.

BBDO 게레로는 필리핀 에어라인의 “Safetynovela(세이프티노벨라)”로 그랑프리를 수상하고, 필름 부분에서 크리스탈을 수상했다. 레오 마닐라(Leo Mania)는 필리핀 맥도날드로 5개의 상을 수상했고, 기길(GIGIL)은 캔바 필리핀의 “Kween Yasmin(퀸 야스민)”으로 3개의 상을 수상했다. 25 August 2026, BUSAN – The Philippine Embassy in Seoul and the Philippine Consulate General in Busan supported the participation of 15 officials from the Province of Aklan in the 2026 KOICA Global Training Program, “Capacity Building for Public-Private Governance on Community Volunteer Work in the Philippines (2024–2026),” held from 16 to 29 August 2026.

Philippine Ambassador Bernadette Therese C. Fernandez attended the welcome reception on 18 August and highlighted the importance of public-private cooperation in strengthening disaster response, climate resilience, and sustainable development. She emphasized the need to move from reactive crisis management toward proactive preparedness and readiness, particularly amid rapid urbanization and increasing natural calamities .

On 25 August, Acting Head of Post and Vice Consul Mahgie B. Lacaba attended the special training session as an observer at Kim Nam-ju Hall, Chonnam National University. She underscored the longstanding development partnership between the Philippines and the Republic of Korea and the importance of continued cooperation and knowledge exchange.

Led by Aklan Provincial Administrator Atty. Selwyn C. Ibarreta, the delegates are undertaking training on public-private governance, volunteer management, disaster preparedness, and sustainable community development. The participants are expected to cascade the knowledge and best practices gained from the program to the 17 municipalities of Aklan.

The program, implemented since 2024 by KOICA in partnership with Gwangju Volunteer Center headed by CEO RYU Misoo, continues to strengthen Philippines-ROK cooperation toward building more resilient, prepared, and sustainable communities.

2026년 8월 25일, 부산 – 주한 필리핀 대사관과 주부산 필리핀 총영사관은 2026년 8월 16일부터 29일까지 열린 2026 한국국제협력단(KOICA) 글로벌 트레이닝 프로그램 “필리핀 지역사회 자원봉사 민관 거버넌스 역량 강화(2024-2026)”에 아클란주 공무원 15명의 참여를 지원했다.

버나뎃 테레스 C. 페르난데스 주한 필리핀 대사는 8월 18일 환영 리셉션에 참석하여 재난 대응, 기후 회복력, 지속가능한 개발을 강화하는 데 있어 민관 협력의 중요성을 강조했으며, 급격한 도시화와 자연재해 증가 속에서, 사후 대응적 위기 관리에서 벗어나 사전 예방적인 대비 및 준비 태세로 나아갈 필요가 있음을 강조했다.

8월 25일, 공관장 직무대행이자 부영사인 매기 B. 라카바는 전남대학교 김남주 홀에서 열린 특강에 참관자로 참석했다. 이날 부영사는 필리핀과 대한민국 간 오랫동안 지속된 개발 파트너십과 지속적인 협력 및 지식 교류의 중요성을 강조했다.

아클란주 행정관 셀윈 C. 이바레타 변호사가 이끄는 대표단은 민관 거버넌스, 자원봉사 관리, 재난 대비, 지속가능한 공동체 개발과 관련한 트레이닝에 참여했다. 참여자들은 프로그램을 통해 얻은 지식과 우수 사례를 아클란주의 17개 지방자치단체로 전달할 것으로 기대된다.

해당 프로그램은 전남광주통합특별시의 류미수 대표와 한국국제협력단(KOICA)의 파트너십을 통해 2024년부터 시행되었으며, 더욱 회복력 있고, 재난에 대비하며, 지속가능한 공동체를 구축하기 위한 필리핀-대한민국 간 협력을 지속적으로 강화하고 있다.

The Philippine Consulate General in Busan congratulates five (5) kababayans under its jurisdiction who took the oath of allegiance to reacquire their Filipino citizenship on 4 August 2026 and 19 August 2026, the first ones since the opening of the Consulate General. Their oaths were administered by Vice Consul Mahgie B. Lacaba. END

23 August 2026, Busan– The Philippine Consulate General in Busan congratulates the United Fil-Korean Family Center (UFF) on the successful 3rd Edition of Mrs. Busan Philippines 2026, held on 23 August 2026 at the KF-ASEAN Culture House in Haeundae, Busan.

This year’s celebration brought together Filipina women from Busan and surrounding areas, highlighting their strength, character, intelligence, compassion, cultural identity, and commitment to community.

Philippine Consul General Leah Victoria T. Carada joined the celebration and recognized the many roles Filipinas play—as mothers, wives, professionals, entrepreneurs, workers, and community leaders. As she shared in her remarks that “a Filipina is more than just a beautiful face. She is a daughter, a sister, a mother, a wife, a professional, an entrepreneur, a worker—a fighter who rises amidst challenges.”

2026년 8월 23일, 부산 – 주부산 필리핀 총영사관은 2026년 8월 23일 부산 해운대구에 위치한 KF-아세안문화원에서 개최된 제3회 미세스 부산 필리핀의 성공적인 개최를 축하하며 한필가족연합센터(UFF)에 축하의 뜻을 전했다.

올해 행사는 부산 및 인근 지역의 필리핀 여성들이 한자리에 모여 강인함, 인품, 지성, 연민, 문화 정체성, 공동체 헌신을 보여주는 자리가 되었다.

레아 빅토리아 T. 카라다 필리핀 총영사는 이번 축하 행사에 참석하여 어머니, 아내, 전문가, 기업가, 근로자, 공동체 리더로서 필리핀 여성들이 수행하고 있는 다양한 역할을 높이 평가했다. 총영사는 축사에서, “필리핀 여성은 아름답기만 한 것이 아니라, 딸이자, 자매이자, 어머니이자, 아내이며, 전문가이고, 기업가이고, 근로자로서, 역경 속에서도 다시 일어서는 투사입니다.”라고 말했다.
