As my time as Wolf Chief winds down, I’ve been reflecting on an incredible and challenging year. I’m beyond proud of everything the Airmen of the Wolf Pack have accomplished—through all the changes, your resilience and motivation have stood out. I’ve made lifelong friendships and unforgettable memories here and Kunsan will always hold a special place in my heart. Keep doing the right things for the right reasons, and please show the next Wolf Chief the same love. I’ll miss you all!

I haven’t posted in a hot minute (because we’re doing work over here in the Wolf Pack), but wanted to share a bit from today that warmed my heart.

A1C White, a Food Services Journeyman, shadowed me today. I was super tired from being up until the wee hours of the morning for SMSgt release and wasn’t initially feeling the early morning packed calendar.

But that changed quickly. Our first stop was AFN. He was asked during a radio interview about what makes him tick and he said knowing his job helps maintainers, who are busting it on the flightline, get a hot meal. This guy, as an A1C, already has that service mindset, sense of purpose, and gets it.

He was then exposed to SFS and more career/life advice rambling from me than I’m sure he wanted, but the highlight for me is when we took him to a FS and one of the pilots gave him a skinnied down version of what they do every day. He got to climb in the cockpit and get a rundown of the Viper. Afterwards, he said it was one of the coolest things he’s experienced in the AF.

I went into work tired, but left energized. It was a pleasure hanging with you today, A1C White!

Congrats to the SFS on winning the base softball championship! Great to see so many from both SFS and MXS come out and support their teammates.

We can often get so wrapped up in taking care of others that we forget our own self care. Had a good discussion at today’s Top 3 meeting where this was one of many topics. Here’s an image I’ve had on my phone for a couple years that serves as a periodic reminder to myself. Hope you all can get a thing or two out of it as well.

To say the past couple of weeks have been tough on the Wolf Pack would be an understatement, but I could not be prouder of how everyone has come together to look after one another. We go together and I witnessed that first-hand the past couple of days. Thank you for your honesty and resiliency! Continue to come online if things aren’t right so we can break the status quo mentality. Just because it’s always been a certain way does not mean that it must stay that way. I’m honored to serve alongside every one of you in this Wing. Feel free to hit me up directly if you need anything.
