In Latin America, thousands of miles from Korea, interest in Korea continues to grow. 🔥
From August 12 to 18, the 2026 KF Korea Insight Lecture Series was held over five lectures at four universities across Chile and Brazil.

Korean experts and local university students came together to explore Korea’s development experience and balanced regional development, as well as changes in Korean society through film and television. 💬📚
The lectures offered meaningful avenues to expand interest in Korea into academic exploration. 🇰🇷🤝🌎

The KF will continue to create opportunities for growing global interest in Korea to lead to deeper understanding and exchange. ✨

🇰🇷🤝🌏 Five Stories Connecting Korea and Central Asia

To promote mutual understanding and cooperation between Korea and Central Asia, the Korea Foundation (KF) partnered with CBS’s Sebasi to host “Central Asia: Opening the Way to a Shared Future.”

On August 19, five speakers from Kazakhstan 🇰🇿, Kyrgyzstan 🇰🇬, Tajikistan 🇹🇯, Turkmenistan 🇹🇲, and Uzbekistan 🇺🇿 shared their experiences of life in Korea and their visions for the future of Korea–Central Asia relations. ✨
🎥 The talks will be released one by one on the Sebasi YouTube channel. Stay tuned!

The KF connects people through public diplomacy, building a closer future between Korea and Central Asia. 🌏

한국과 중앙아시아의 상호 이해와 협력을 높이기 위해 KF가 CBS ‘세상을 바꾸는 시간 15(세바시)’와 함께 「중앙아시아, 상생의 미래를 열다」 강연을 개최했습니다.

지난 8월 19일, 서울 영등포아트홀에서 카자흐스탄 🇰🇿, 키르기스스탄 🇰🇬, 타지키스탄 🇹🇯, 우즈베키스탄 🇺🇿, 투르크메니스탄 🇹🇲 출신의 주한외국인 5명이 한국에서의 삶과 경험, 그리고 한-중앙아시아의 미래에 대한 이야기를 전했습니다. ✨

언어와 문화, 이주와 정체성, 교육과 성장까지.
서로 다른 삶의 이야기를 통해 한국과 중앙아시아가 이미 다양한 방식으로 연결되어 있음을 확인하는 시간이었습니다. 💬

🤖 AI Talent for Tomorrow, Korea and Central Asia Together
2026 Korea-Central Asia AI Human Capital Development Policy Training Program
📍 Aug. 18–20, 2026 | Seoul and Gyeonggi-do, Korea

AI education experts from five Central Asian countries—🇰🇿 Kazakhstan, 🇰🇬 Kyrgyzstan, 🇹🇯 Tajikistan, 🇹🇲 Turkmenistan, and 🇺🇿 Uzbekistan—have come to Korea to explore Korea’s AI talent development policies and practices during a three-day training program.

On August 18, participants attended an AI Talent Development Strategy Forum and Policy Roundtable, exchanging insights on Korea’s AI talent development strategies and the current state and needs of AI education in Central Asia.

From policy exchanges and site visits to discussions on future collaboration, the training program seeks to build new connections and possibilities for Korea–Central Asia cooperation in AI talent development. ✨

특히 지난 8월 18일에는 AI 인재양성 전략포럼과 정책 라운드테이블이 개최되었는데요!
한국의 AI 인재양성 전략 및 사례와 중앙아 각국의 AI 교육현황 및 수요를 살펴볼 수 있는 시간이었습니다.

[KOREANA SUMMER] Brick by Brick – 건축가 양수인, ‘문제아’에서 ‘문제 해결사’로 / Soo-in Yang: From Maverick to Problem Solver

The “Brick by Brick” column in this year’s summer issue of Koreana puts a spotlight on architect Soo-in Yang. Known for his distinctive sensibility, Yang has led his firm, LIFETHINGS, since 2010, with a practice that extends beyond conventional architecture to encompass advertising campaigns and landmark installations. Describing LIFETHINGS as a design company rooted in architecture, Yang explains architects should act as problem solvers. He views architecture as belonging more to the realm of pragmatism than art, and he moves fluidly between the two disciplines in search of clear and effective solutions. Among his best-known works is Centreefugal Park, the winning project of the 2017 Young Architects Program, jointly organized by MMCA, MoMA, and Hyundai Card.

이번 여름호 Brick by Brick 칼럼에서는 양수인 건축가를 소개합니다. 2010년부터 건축사사무소 ‘삶것’을 운영하며, 뚜렷한 개성으로 주목받고 있는 건축가 양수인은 건축가가 삶의 다기한 문제를 풀어가는 해결사 역할을 해야 한다고 생각하며, 건축은 물론 광고 캠페인, 상징 조형물 등 다양한 작업을 병행하고 있습니다. 대표작으로는 국립현대미술관과 뉴욕현대미술관, 현대카드가 공동 주최한 ‘젊은 건축가 프로그램’의 2017년 선정작 ‘원심림’이 있습니다.
