NIA made on-site inspections to establish new IACs in Nicaragua and Vietnam and signed MOU for mutual cooperation.

Back in April 2015, NIA visited three organizations in Managua recommended by the Ministry of Youth of Nicaragua. After thorough inspection, the Ariel Darce Center was selected as the new partner organization where the Nicaragua-Korea IAC will be established. Ariel Darce Center is a community facility for local residents. Once IAC is completed it will be utilized as a main center for providing informatization education and access to internet.

Meanwhile the Vietnam-Korea IAC in Lao Cai is the third center that will be established in Vietnam following the centers in Hanoi and Thai Nguyen. Lao Cai is the hub city of Northern Vietnam and is the residential area for minority groups. Among the candidates, NIA selected the Lao Cai Teacher Training College as the new partner organization where minority group takes up the majority of students. Therefore the new IAC is expected to contribute to Vietnam’s supporting policy towards minority groups.

The inauguration ceremony for both centers is scheduled to be held around November.
