The Embassy organised a Press Briefing today, spotlighting the upcoming Sarang - Festival of India in Korea, scheduled to be held from September 15-22, 2026.

Ambassador briefed the media on the Embassy's flagship cultural initiatives and shared key developments in the India-Rok bilateral relationship, highlighting the growing momentum, depth and promise of ties between the two countries.

Discovering the Beauty of Kathak.

SVCC brought the world of Indian classical dance to Jamsil Girls’ Middle School through a book discussion on “The Story of Indian Dance: Dance Is Yoga” by Ms. Oh Suk-hee.

Students were introduced to the grace and diversity of India’s classical dance forms. Ms. Oh also led an energetic Kathak workshop, giving students an opportunity to experience firsthand the rhythm and expressions of the dance form.

주한인도문화원은 오숙희 작가의 "인도 춤 이야기: 춤은 요가다"를 주제로 한 북토크를 통해 잠실여자중학교 학생들에게 인도 고전무용의 세계를 소개했습니다.

학생들은 인도 고전무용이 지닌 우아함과 다채로운 매력을 접하는 시간을 가졌습니다. 또한 오숙희 작가는 카탁 워크숍을 진행하여 학생들이 카탁 특유의 리듬과 표현을 직접 경험해 볼 수 있는 기회를 마련했습니다.

The Poet’s Brush, the Educator’s Eye | Tagore, Teaching an Era Through Art

Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre, in collaboration with Gusan-dong Library Village, warmly invites you to a special book discussion with author Choi Eun-joo on her book Rabindranath Tagore, Pioneer of Art Education.

Rabindranath Tagore, Asia’s first Nobel Laureate in Literature, shared a deep and enduring connection with Korea. His poem Lamp of the East beautifully reflects his admiration for Korea and its people.
This book sheds light on Tagore as a pioneer of art education, exploring his educational philosophy, the development of modern Indian art, and the establishment of Kala-Bhavan, the art school at Santiniketan.

Join us for an engaging conversation with author Choi Eun-joo as we explore Tagore’s vision of art and education, and how his ideas shaped the artistic and educational landscape of modern India.

주한인도대사관 인도문화원은 구산동도서관마을과 함께 최은주 저자의『인도 시인 R. 타고르, 미술교육의 개척자 되다』를 주제로 특별한 북디스커션을 개최합니다.

아시아 최초의 노벨문학상 수상자인 라빈드라나드 타고르는 한국과도 깊고 오랜 인연을 맺어왔습니다. 특히 그의 시「동방의 등불(Lamp of the East)」에는 한국과 한국인에 대한 타고르의 깊은 관심과 애정이 아름답게 담겨 있습니다.

이번 북디스커션에서는 미술교육가로서 타고르의 새로운 모습을 만나봅니다. 타고르의 교육철학을 비롯해 인도 근대미술이 발전해 온 과정과 산티니케탄의 미술학교 칼라-바반(Kala-Bhavan)의 이야기를 통해, 그가 예술과 교육을 어떻게 바라보고 실천했는지 살펴봅니다.
