On 2 September, ESCCK joined the opening of Something Is Still Growing, the first solo exhibition in South Korea by Spanish artist Elena Gual ELENA GUAL

We were especially happy to see our member Emma Cabal coordinating the project and to support the initiative by connecting the organisers with the Embassy of Spain and other F&B partners.

Originally from Mallorca, Elena Gual is known for her distinctive textured paintings exploring femininity, identity, nature, and emotion.

A wonderful example of member collaboration and the power of connecting our Spanish–Korean community.

On 2 September 2026, the ESCCK attended K-FEZ DAY 2026, organized by Invest KOREA and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Resources (MOTIR).

The event offered valuable insights into Korea’s Free Economic Zones and their role in attracting international investment, supporting advanced industries, and strengthening Korea’s position as a key business hub in Asia.

It was also a great opportunity to connect with representatives from government, business, diplomatic missions, chambers of commerce, and the international community.

Thank you to Invest KOREA and MOTIR for an insightful event and for bringing Korea’s investment ecosystem together.

✨ On Wednesday, 26 August, the ESCCK team had the pleasure of attending MINOTAURUS at SONGEUN Art Space in Seoul.

We particularly enjoyed “A flor de piel,” a special performance by our valued member Alessandro Navarro Barbeito, Alessandro Navarro Barbeito Spanish dancer and choreographer, together with Korean drummer Juhong Kim, a Swiss dancer, and other participating artists.

MINOTAURUS brings together dance, visual art, and music in dialogue with the architecture of SONGEUN Art Space, creating a unique and engaging artistic experience.

It was a pleasure to support our member and experience such an original approach to contemporary art and cross-cultural collaboration. Congratulations to Alessandro and all the artists involved! 👏✨

Yesterday, August 19, the international performance project «MINOTAURUS» began at SONGEUN Art Space, featuring Spanish dancer and choreographer based in Seoul and ESCCK member Alessandro Navarro Barbeito Alessandro Navarro Barbeito

Presented by SunadanSe & Les Mondes Transversaux as part of the exhibition «SONGEUN × Unboxing Project: Generative Forms», the project brings together dance, visual art, music and architecture in an interdisciplinary dialogue.

Through the encounter between movement and percussion, the performance explores the experimental and interdisciplinary spirit of MINOTAURUS.

The Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Korea (ESCCK) is pleased to share Something Is Still Growing, the first solo exhibition in South Korea by Spanish artist Elena Gual, ELENA GUAL presented by ARMA Gallery ARMA GALLERY in collaboration with BOTTARI and ACEL.

Held as part of Seoul Art Week 2026, the exhibition explores the connections between femininity, nature, identity, and emotion through Gual’s distinctive, highly textured painting technique. Her portraits and floral compositions create vibrant emotional landscapes that invite viewers to reflect on human connection and authenticity.

Saying goodbye is never easy!

4 August 2026, we said farewell to two wonderful members of the ESCCK team: Seoyoung, Seoyoung and Sergio.

After supporting the Chamber’s marketing and membership activities—and Andalucía TRADE’s activities earlier this year—they are both beginning new chapters.

Seoyoung is heading to the Secretaría General Iberoamericana (SEGIB) through a one-year government programme, while Sergio is returning to Spain and to his position there.

You have been amazing colleagues and even better friends. We will miss you both! 

Wishing you every success and happiness in your next adventures. ❤️
