The Soldier-Musicians of the 1st Armored Division Band presented the first-ever open-to-the-public performance by a U.S. Army rock band in Kuwait City. The performance celebrated the 25th anniversary of the liberation of Kuwait and the friendship that united Kuwaitis and Americans then and which continues to unite us today. Over 1,500 people attended the outdoor performance on a beautiful Kuwait January afternoon. The show was broadcast live on Kuwait radio and videotaped for later broadcast on Kuwait TV.

Happy Birthday to ELVIS PRESLEY, who would have been 81 today. Elvis entered the U.S. Army on March 24, 1958. He left active duty at Fort Dix, New Jersey, on March 5, 1960, and received his discharge from the Army Reserve on March 23, 1964.

"Shockwave" from the 1st Armored Division Band performed on Leyali Al Kuwait (Kuwait Nights) last evening. They appeared with special guests, U.S. Ambassador, Douglas Silliman, and former Ambassador (retired) Skip Gnehm, who served as ambassador during the liberation and reconstruction of Kuwait in the early 1990s. Leyali Al Kuwait is currently the number one rated TV show in the country.

Patton's Own, today marks the 71st anniversary of one of the most decisive and bloodiest battles of . The began Dec. 16, 1944, and was a sneak attack by Hi**er on exhausted soldiers in the hills of Belgium's Ardennes forest. Lt. Gen. George Patton and his Third Army played an instrumental role in defeating the German counter offensive in the Ardennes, relieving Bastogne and elements of the 101st Airborne Division and the start of the Allied counter offensive against the Germans. The battle was Hi**er's last major stand, really - one that could have changed the tide of the war in his favor. Instead, it solidified an Allied Victory. British Prime Minister Winston Churchill called the battle, "This is undoubtedly the greatest American battle of the war, and will, I believe be regarded as an ever famous American victory."
