โค๏ธ Teamwork in action. Community at heart. โค๏ธ๐Ÿฉธ

Recently, members of HM Cayman Islands Prison Service came together to participate in a blood donation drive as part of a team-building initiative.

While teamwork is often built within the workplace, moments like these remind us that unity is also demonstrated through service to others.

๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ Deputy Director of Rehabilitation (Acting), Richard Barton, shared:

โ€œThis blood drive fostered teamwork while simultaneously benefiting the wider community. It serves as a reminder for us to continue to be our brotherโ€™s keeper and to support those around us whenever possible. We encourage other departments and organisations to consider participating in similar activities that can positively impact our community. I would like to thank Director Greaves for approving this initiative and personally showing support on the day".

Today, HM Cayman Islands Prison Service (HMCIPS) would like to recognise the men and women of the Cayman Islands Fire Service (CIFS) on this International Firefighters Day.

Selfless in their duty, the members of the CIFS place the safety of the community above their own-time and time again in moments of crisis but also in building safer, stronger societies through public education campaigns.

Behind every response is relentless preparation-hours of training, discipline, and readiness-ensuring they are equipped to act.

On this day, HMCIPS says thank you ๐Ÿš’

Behind the Badge ๐Ÿ‘ฎ๐Ÿฝโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Our officers recently completed another round of recertification training, reinforcing the standards required to operate safely and professionally in a dynamic environment.

This training covered key areas including physical techniques, planned removal, and report writingโ€”ensuring officers are not only effective in action, but also accountable in documentation.

It goes beyond practical skills, strengthening judgement, restraint, and the responsibility to act with care and integrity โš–๏ธ

Every scenario practised and every report completed enhances their ability to protect colleagues, maintain order, and safeguard those in our custody ๐Ÿค

Strengthening Criminal Justice Through Training and Partnership โš–๏ธ

Recently, HMCIPS, in collaboration with the Department of Community Rehabilitation, the Department of Public Safety Communication, the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service, the Royal Montserrat Police Service and the British Virgin Islands Police Service, participated in the Management of S*x Offender and Violent Offender (MOSOVO) Programme.

Over the course of the week-long training, participants gained valuable insights into the complexities of managing high-risk offenders and the critical role of multi-agency collaboration in enhancing public safety. The programme, certified by the College of Policing (UK), continues to strengthen Offender management practices across the Cayman Islands.

HMCIPS extends its sincere thanks to RCIPS for the invitation and for their continued commitment to advancing criminal justice reform and inter-agency partnership.
