Meaningful Momentum means taking real steps that improve everyday lives across our communities. 🇰🇾

Over the past year, we have worked to strengthen protections for children and persons at-risk, support older persons with dignity and inclusion, and improve access to services through innovation and programmes like My eID.

The launch of the Adult Safeguarding Task Force marked another important step toward ensuring safer, stronger communities for every generation, while digital initiatives continue making government services more accessible, responsive, and people-centred.

Together, we are building a stronger, fairer Cayman Islands where every person feels valued, protected, empowered, and connected. 💙

💜 World Lupus Day 💜

Today, we join the global community in raising awareness about lupus, auto-immune diseases, and invisible illnesses that impact millions of people worldwide, including many right here in the Cayman Islands.

World Lupus Day, observed on 10 May 2026, serves as an important reminder that not every illness or disability is visible, and that compassion, understanding, and support can make a meaningful difference in the lives of those affected.

The National Council for Persons with Disabilities (NCPD), which falls under the Ministry of Social Development & Innovation, remains committed to advocating for inclusion, accessibility, awareness, and support for persons living with disabilities and chronic illnesses within our community.

Together, let us continue to educate, advocate, and stand in solidarity with those living with lupus and other invisible illnesses. 💜

📹 Did you catch today’s Daybreak?!

Watch it here and learn more about Lupus, auto-immune diseases, and invisible illnesses in the Cayman Islands (20-26 minute mark).💜

The National Council for Persons with Disabilities (NCPD) Chair Dr. Annette Stephenson and NCPD Secretary Gina Lawrence shared powerful insight on how some people can go undiagnosed for years, the realities of living with invisible illnesses, and why someone with a handicap tag may not always have a visible disability. ♿️

They also reminded us all of the importance of compassion, awareness, and greater understanding for those living with invisible illnesses in our community. Thank you to Raegan and the Compass TV team for highlighting this important topic! 🙏✨
