A highlight of last weekโ€™s Passing Out Ceremony was the live emergency response exercise, where firefighters demonstrated the skills, teamwork, and professionalism developed throughout their training.

Showcasing their vehicle extrication techniques and coordinated rescue operations, the exercise provided family members, invited guests, and members of the public with a firsthand look at the demanding work firefighters perform when responding to emergencies.

The demonstration gave insight into the recruitsโ€™ readiness to serve and their commitment to protecting lives, property and the environment, across the Cayman Islands.

Congratulations once again to the Cayman Islands Fire Service Class of 2026. ๐Ÿš’๐Ÿ”ฅ

๐Ÿš’๐Ÿ”ฅ Happy Childโ€™s Month from the Cayman Islands Fire Service! ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿš’

Keeping our children safe starts with teaching simple fire safety habits early. From knowing two ways out to understanding the importance of smoke alarms, every little lesson can make a BIG difference.

This Childโ€™s Month, we encourage all families to:
โœ… Practice a home escape plan
โœ… Teach children to stay away from matches and lighters
โœ… Check that smoke alarms are working
โœ… Remind children to call 911 only in emergencies

Together, we can help build a safer Cayman for every child. ๐Ÿ’›

๐Ÿš’ Cayman Islands Fire Service โ€“ Building Stronger Emergency Response ๐Ÿš’

We are proud to recognize four of our Sub Officers on their successful completion of the Bronze Command Joint Emergency Services Interoperability Principles (JESIP) Training Course, held from 4th โ€“ 13th March 2026.

๐Ÿ‘ Congratulations to:
โ€ข Christopher Jackson (Aerodrome Division)
โ€ข Omar Bryan (Aerodrome Division)
โ€ข Nicholas Peralta (Domestic Division)
โ€ข Luke Welds (Domestic Division)

The JESIP framework strengthens how emergency services work together during critical incidents through key principles:
Co-locate, Communicate, Coordinate, Jointly Understand Risk, and Share Situational Awareness.

We are also pleased to highlight that Omar Bryan, Nicholas Peralta, and Luke Welds have completed the Bronze Command Train the Trainer course, enabling them to train and certify others in these essential principles.

This achievement increases the number of qualified JESIP trainers within the Cayman Islands Civil Service to 15, further enhancing national preparedness and interagency coordination.

๐Ÿ‘ We commend their dedication and commitment to public safety and operational excellence.

Kitchen Fire Safety Tips ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿณ

The Cayman Islands Fire Service reminds everyone that unattended cooking is one of the leading causes of home fires. Always stay alert while cooking and keep flammable items away from the stove. If a grease fire occurs, never use water, as it can cause the flames to spread rapidly. Instead, turn off the heat and carefully cover the pan with a metal lid to smother the fire. If the fire cannot be controlled, move to safety and call 911 immediately. ๐Ÿš’

๐Ÿ”ฅ CIFS Leadership in Action

Members of the Cayman Islands Fire Service (CIFS) Extended Leadership Team were proud to attend the CIG 2026 Senior Leadership Conference at the Kimpton Seafire, joining leaders from across the Civil Service.

Under the theme โ€œInfluence in Action: Leadership that Delivers,โ€ the conference focused on how intentional leadership can strengthen accountability, drive alignment, and deliver meaningful results across the public service.

A key highlight was the leadership panel on โ€œThe Accountability Advantage,โ€ which provided valuable insights into building a culture of true accountability within the Civil Service. Keynote speaker Scott Robley also delivered an inspiring session on using intentional influence to create lasting behaviour change.

It was a great opportunity for our leadership team to engage, learn, and continue strengthening our commitment to serving the Cayman Islands.
