🔴 Test your smoke alarms every month.
🔴 Plan and practise two ways out of every room.
🔴 Choose a safe meeting place outside.
🔴 If a fire occurs, get out, stay out, and never go back inside.

Remember:
🔴 Never leave cooking unattended.
🔴 Keep towels, packaging and other combustibles away from the stove.
🔴 If a pan catches fire, slide a lid over it and turn off the heat.
🚫💧 NEVER use water on a grease fire!

As hurricane season continues, generators can be a lifeline—but they can also pose serious fire and carbon monoxide risks when used incorrectly.

⚠️ Remember: KEEP IT OUTSIDE. KEEP FUMES AWAY.

✅ Never operate a generator indoors, in a garage, or near open windows.
✅ Keep your generator dry and at least 20 feet away from buildings.
✅ Allow the generator to cool completely before refuelling.

A few simple precautions can help protect your home, your family, and your community. Use your generator safely and never take unnecessary risks.

Chief Fire Officer D. Randy Rankin and the entire Cayman Islands Fire Service extend heartfelt condolences to Mrs. Gerry Robinson and children, Ross, Jennifer and Collin, as well as the entire family, on the passing of respected former Senior Divisional Officer Carney Robinson.

We honour his dedicated service to the Cayman Islands Fire Service from 1972 to 2008. His commitment and contribution will be remembered with gratitude and respect. May God comfort and strengthen his family during this difficult time, and may his soul rest in eternal peace.

Lithium-ion batteries can ignite and cause serious landfill fires. Charge them safely, never place them in household garbage, and take damaged or unwanted batteries to an approved collection point. Charge safe. Dispose safe. 🔋🔥

The Ministry of District Administration and Home Affairs was honoured to join the Cayman Islands Fire Service (CIFS) in celebrating the remarkable career of the Honourable Franz Manderson, MBE, Cert. Hon., JP, Deputy Governor, during a special retirement visit recognising his outstanding legacy of public service.

Upon his arrival, the Deputy Governor was welcomed with a ceremonial salute and greeting by on-duty firefighters and senior officers before receiving commemorative awards from Chief Fire Officer Dwight ‘Randy’ Rankin in recognition of his steadfast leadership and unwavering support of the Cayman Islands Fire Service throughout his tenure.

The Ministry extends its sincere appreciation to Mr. Manderson for his exceptional service, enduring leadership and lasting contribution to the Cayman Islands. We wish him every success and God’s richest blessings in his retirement.

The Cayman Islands Fire Service proudly participated in the King’s Birthday Parade and Inspection, demonstrating the professionalism, discipline, and commitment that define the Service.

Led by Chief Fire Officer Dwight “Randy” Rankin, CIFS firefighters joined fellow uniformed services in honouring His Majesty King Charles III and celebrating service to the Cayman Islands.

We extend our appreciation to all CIFS personnel who represented the Service with distinction throughout the parade and inspection.
