⚽🔥 Honoring a Legacy & Building the Future at the Winston Chung Football Camp! 🔥⚽

I am deeply honored to have sponsored this year’s Winston Chung Football Camp in partnership with the Rotary Club of Grand Cayman! This incredible event is held in loving memory of my mentor, coach, father figure, and friend, the late Coach Winston Chung.

From July 13th to 17th, we had the privilege of welcoming over 100 passionate young athletes to the pitch for an unforgettable week of skill-building, teamwork, and growth! 🏆🌟

🧠 Upskilling Our Local Talent:
This year, we were thrilled to partner with CayPlay—an outstanding educational sports training organization focused on developing elite sports coaches.

Through this collaboration, I was proud to sponsor 15 Caymanian coaches to be mentored and taught the correct, modern techniques for developing our young athletes. Having world-class leadership on island made an incredible impact:
🎓 Mr. Vin Blain – FIFA/Concacaf Instructor & Technical Director
⚽ Mr. Jeremy Fishbein – NCAA Football Coach

💙 Why Giving Back Means Everything:
Giving back to these developmental programmes fills me with immense pride and joy. I credit my own personal and professional success to the opportunity Coach Chung created when he brought coaches to our island in the 1980s.
That vision transformed hundreds of my peers and me, opening doors to football scholarships, higher education, and fulfilling careers. To carry that torch forward for the next generation is a true blessing. 🙌✨

🙏 Heartfelt Thank You’s:
This camp’s success would not be possible without an incredible team working behind the scenes:

Rotary Club of Grand Cayman – Thank you for your vital sponsorship and continued partnership.

Mr. Antwan Seymour & Cherry Whittaker – Thank you for your tireless dedication in coordinating this camp for the past two years!

Everton Edwards – To my mentor and friend, thank you for securing our international coaches and sharing your coaching expertise to upskill our local talent.

To all the young athletes who gave it your all on the field: the future of Cayman football is bright! keep shining! 🇰🇾⚡

What a weekend! This Saturday was focused on our seniors! One part of this role I enjoy most is spending time listening to the concerns, thoughts and hopes of our people. It is my mission to help where I can, but I often find that our people want the opportunity to be heard and for someone to care. It was fantastic spending time in the afternoon sharing stories and hearing the vision for our country of Prospect seniors. Then spending the evening at the Meals on Wheels gala supporting a cause that benefits so many in our community with beautiful dancing, an amazing theme, good food and great company.

It is hard to believe that it has been one year since being sworn in as your Prospect MP and as the Minister for Caymanian Employment and Immigration. What a fantastic year it has been. I am proud of the work that has been done and there is plenty more work to do! Thank you to our Prospect District Council and Prospect Constituency Office for being the much needed connection between our community and our goals. Thank you to our CINP team, there are so many people behind the scenes that support and make our party possible. It has been an honor to share the journey of this first year with .gts , .cbwlc and .wbw . And I am proud that together with our NCFC colleagues and all members of Parliament we are changing business as usual and working in for Caymanians. I will continue to strive to make the CINP Difference by creating results that matter for Caymanians.

Good morning Prospect residents,

We want to keep you clearly informed on the situation following the landfill fire on 16 April.

🔎 Current Status
• The incident remains a major fire event, with emergency teams actively responding
• Air quality readings are currently good across surrounding communities
• Welfare checks have been completed and N95 masks distributed
• Esterley Tibbetts Highway is open with no traffic disruptions
• A full reassessment is underway today to determine next steps

🚒 Government & Emergency Response
The Government is working closely with the Cayman Islands Fire Service, Department of Environmental Health, RCIPS, and Hazard Management teams.

Fire crews continue containment efforts, while environmental teams are covering landfill areas to reduce flare-ups and smoke.

⚠️ We Understand the Urgency
Landfill fires are not just an inconvenience—they impact health, safety, and quality of life.

For over 40 years, tens of millions have been spent without delivering a lasting solution. That is not acceptable—and we will not repeat those mistakes.

🔧 What Happens Next

Immediate Actions
• Increased fire prevention measures (more frequent covering of waste)
• Continued air quality and community safety monitoring
• Ongoing emergency response coordination

Mid-Term Plan (Funded)
• Development of a modern, fully-lined landfill at the current site
• $6 million allocated to improve safety and environmental standards
• Expansion of recycling and waste diversion programmes
• Capacity to manage waste safely for the next decade

Long-Term Plan
• A sustainable, modern waste management system
• A practical, cost-effective solution built for future generations

💬 Our Commitment
This is not just about putting out a fire—
it is about solving a national issue the right way, once and for all.

We will continue to keep you updated.

Wrapping up women’s month with our women’s health seminar. There is so much unseen work that women do and often at the cost of taking care of your health. I’d encourage any women who can relate to come out TONIGHT and find out a few easy places to start taking control of your health again.
