Workforce Opportunities & Residency Cayman - WORC WORC is a new approach to the departments formally known as Immigration Department and the NWDA.

Our Vision is to lead the pursuit of full Caymanian employment and economic prosperity for all through service excellence. WORC is comprised of the following sections; Finance, Human Resources, Records Management, Permits Status & Residency, Business Operations, Compliance, Customer Care, Labour Needs & Supply, Appeals & Freedom of Information. Workforce Opportunities and Residency Cayman (WORC) reminds employers that work permit renewal applications must be submitted on or before the expiration of the current work permit.

Failure to do so will result in the employee having to immediately cease employment.

WORC strongly recommends that work permit renewal applications be submitted at least 30 days before the expiration of the work permit.

What did Cayman’s labour market look like in August?

WORC recorded 1,784 job postings during August 2026, bringing the year-to-date total to 15,421 postings — a 24.7% increase compared with the same period in 2025.

Construction, Administrative & Support Services, and Accommodation & Food Services were among the industries with the highest demand, while 96% of August job postings were for full-time roles.

Hello2Hired returned with an even stronger turnout, bringing together 91 Caymanian jobseekers and 24 employers for an evening focused on connection, opportunity and career support.

The second Hello2Hired recruitment event gave Caymanians the chance to meet directly with employers across a range of industries, explore available opportunities and receive practical support in career coaching, interview preparation and résumé writing.

Premier Hon. André Ebanks and Minister for Caymanian Employment and Immigration Hon. Michael Myles also joined the event, engaging with jobseekers, employers and participating organisations.

MCEI, supported by WORC, will continue building on Hello2Hired and other initiatives aimed at strengthening employment pathways and connecting Caymanians with meaningful opportunities.

Do you need an Acknowledgment Letter confirming your Right to be Caymanian?

An Acknowledgment Letter is an official document issued by Workforce Opportunities & Residency Cayman (WORC) confirming an individual’s legal claim to be Caymanian, either by Right or by Entitlement.

It serves as formal proof of Caymanian status and may be required by employers, banks, educational institutions, government agencies and passport authorities.

Who may need to apply?
🔹 Persons Caymanian by Right who do not have formal documentation from WORC
🔹 Children Caymanian by Entitlement through a parent who became Caymanian after their birth
🔹 Persons turning 18 who need to continue their Right to be Caymanian

How to apply:
1️⃣ Complete the C27 Form – Right to be Caymanian
2️⃣ Gather the required supporting documents
3️⃣ Submit online through WORC’s Online Services Portal or at the WORC Customer Service Counter

💳 Fees:
• Entitlement, under 18: CI$50 application + CI$1,000 approval
• Entitlement, after 18: CI$1,000 application + CI$1,000 approval
• Confirmation by birth/descent: No fee

WORC aims to render a decision within 14 business days of receiving a complete application.

✅ Always use the latest C27 form and ensure names and dates match across all supporting documents to help avoid delays.
