My eID is now available at the Savannah Post Office, with weekday and Saturday appointments, making it easier for residents of the eastern districts to apply for and access Cayman Islands Identification Card. 🇰🇾

Residents of Newlands, Savannah and the wider eastern districts can now apply for, renew and receive support for their My eID without travelling into George Town. My eID offers a secure and convenient way to verify identity, access government services, and support inter-island travel; especially for those without a driver’s licence, including some older persons and young people. 🔐

Saturday appointments mean there’s no need to take time away from work to enrol. 🗓️

Applicants are encouraged to begin their application online, submit their information, and book an appointment in advance to help speed up processing and card issuance. 💻

🏆 As we continue celebrating the outstanding achievements of our team, we’re proud to share that Mendel Kerr, Digital Identity & eServices Specialist with the Department of eGovernment, was named the Cayman Islands Civil Service Employee of the Month for February 2026.

Mendel first earned recognition as the Ministry of Social Development & Innovation’s Chief Officer’s Choice Award recipient before going on to receive the Civil Service’s highest monthly employee honour.

Nominated by Suzanne Collins, Mendel was recognised for his outstanding contribution to the successful rollout of the Cayman Islands Identification Card. During the launch phase, he played a leading role in the enrolment and issuance process, delivering exceptional customer service while helping strengthen and refine the overall experience for residents. His commitment to public service continues to embody the values of a World-Class Civil Service.

Former Deputy Governor Hon. Franz Manderson said:

“Mendel’s dedication to public service and commitment to delivering an exceptional customer experience exemplify the very best of the Cayman Islands Civil Service. His professionalism, innovation and willingness to go above and beyond have contributed significantly to the successful rollout of the Cayman Islands Identification Card, and this recognition is richly deserved.”

🎉 More residents are now eligible for My eID!

The Department of E-Government is pleased to announce the next phase of the My eID rollout.

Effective 1 July 2026, the My eID programme has expanded eligibility to include all Caymanians, Civil Servants, Permanent Residents and eligible dependents, making the secure government-issued photo ID available to more residents across the Cayman Islands.

My eID is an official government-issued photo ID that provides a secure and convenient way to prove your identity while supporting faster, simpler access to government services today and into the future.

As the Cayman Islands continues its digital transformation journey, My eID is helping build a more connected, secure and efficient future for residents.

As we reflect on an exciting period of growth and innovation, the eGovernment team extends our sincere thanks to outgoing Deputy Governor Franz Manderson for taking the time to visit our offices recently. 🙏

During his visit, Mr. Manderson met with our talented interns, celebrated recent staff achievements, and recognised important milestones reached by the Department as it relates to the My eID Launch and beyond. His longstanding support for digital transformation, innovation and the development of our people has helped shape the work we do today. ✨

🚨 Beware of the current fraudulent text scam. Please share this alert with your contacts, especially those who may be more vulnerable or not on social media. ‼️

⚠️ The Cayman Islands Postal Service is warning the public about a fraudulent text message claiming that a parcel cannot be delivered until customs duties are paid.

This message is a scam.
✖️ Do not click the link.
✖️ Do not make any payment.

The link provided in these messages is not associated with the Cayman Islands Postal Service or any Cayman Islands Government entity.

The scam has already affected members of our community, with several reports received and one individual losing a significant amount of money.

If you receive one of these messages:
- Delete it immediately.
- If you have clicked the link or made a payment, contact your bank without delay.
- Report the incident to the RCIPS by calling 949-4222, or 911 in an emergency.

⚠️ Remember: The Cayman Islands Postal Service and Cayman Islands Government entities will never request payment of customs duties or fees via text message.

From streamlined identity verification and secure access to services, to future digital conveniences, My eID is an important step in the Cayman Islands’ digital transformation journey.
