Our Trade and Investment Counsellor at Awex Almaty, Ms. Aizhan M***akanova Aijan M***a, had the honour of accompanying IBA’s individual prospecting visit to Kazakhstan, organised to explore new opportunities and renew contacts established more than 15 years ago.
IBA was represented by Andrew D**e, Sales Director for Central and Eastern Europe | Central Asia and the Caucasus, and Aidana Shagalakova, EMEA Regional Product Manager.
A Belgian and Walloon technological flagship, IBA is a global leader in particle accelerators, proton therapy, dosimetry, and radiopharmaceutical solutions. The company develops cutting-edge technologies serving diagnostics, patient treatment, and scientific research.
Kazakhstan is already familiar with the value of this Belgian expertise: IBA equipment is used in the country for medical and scientific purposes, demonstrating the concrete impact of Belgian innovation on the ground.
The visit also provided an opportunity to consider the future prospects of proton therapy in Central Asia — an advanced treatment technology that could, in time, open up new opportunities for medical, scientific, and technological cooperation in the region.
