Meditation is a tried and tested way to increase positivity and awareness✨
Saying "change habits" is easy, but it is very hard work. Permanent change requires willpower - or some proven methods. One of these methods is meditation.
Meditation is an ancient Buddhist practice, recently adopted in the West, which aims to improve the spirit and soul by practicing concentration on the present moment. Its goal is to increase awareness, which is an important step towards a positive attitude towards life.
By forcing you to focus on the present, meditation helps you slow down, live in the moment, and be aware of every positive moment in life. This heightened awareness is one proven way to achieve a positive positivity ratio of 3:1 (three positive emotions to one negative).
One study that included two groups of subjects, those who participated in a meditation workshop and those who did not, found that workshop participants who practiced meditation showed a significantly higher positivity score than those who did not.
But that's not all. Research has also shown that meditation reduces pain, stress, and anxiety. And contrary to popular belief, meditation is not just a placebo effect: its effects can be observed by physical changes in the brain.
Meditation reduces activity in areas of the brain that are associated with negative emotions and increases activity in the left hemisphere, which is responsible for positive ones. So if you're serious about hitting your positivity quotient, try to meditate regularly, and considering it only takes 5 minutes a day to meditate, this is one of the easiest ways to increase your happiness.
