✨ Community voices are at the heart of what we do! GCA visits 6 target villages to conduct FPIC and Gender Analysis 🌱👥

Following our district-level preparations, from July 15-18, 2026, the GCA team continued our fieldwork by organizing village-level consultation meetings in Khongxedon District (Khanthoungxay, Muangxoum, and Khamteu villages) and Lakhonpheng District (Hongsaythong, Na Nong Yao, and Tha Khanxoumxoua villages) in Salavan Province, under the ToPP project which supported by WWF-Laos.

This field visit aimed to ensure genuine community participation and respect for community rights. During our visit, we:

• Transparently presented project information to ensure the villagers were fully informed.
• Conducted participatory Gender Analysis activities to gather in-depth insights into their actual needs.
• Consulted with the community and officially carried out the Free, Prior and Informed Consent (FPIC) process on a voluntary basis.

All the data collected will serve as a vital foundation for designing activities that genuinely respond to the community's needs, promote gender equality, and build long-term sustainability.

📍 Collaborating for Sustainability! GCA and district stakeholders join forces to prepare for community outreach in Salavan Province 🤝🌿
On July 13-14, 2026, the Green Community Alliance (GCA) team, in collaboration with WWF, organized a district-level consultation and training workshop in Khongxedon District, Salavan Province. The meeting was attended by representatives from the Salavan Provincial Department of Agriculture and Environment, the District Agriculture and Environment Offices, the District Governor's Offices, the District Lao Women's Unions, and village representatives from 6 Villages (Lakhonpheng and Khongxedon districts).

The main objective of the workshop was to present the 3-year plan (2026-2028) of the "Together for People and Planet (ToPP)" project, which focuses on 3 core areas: water and forest resource management, waste management, and the promotion of alternative livelihoods for women and youth. Furthermore, the session included comprehensive training on Free, Prior and Informed Consent (FPIC) principles and the application of Gender Analysis tools for all relevant stakeholders.

As a result of the meeting, all parties unanimously agreed to support the initiative and gave the green light for the GCA team to proceed with field operations to conduct FPIC activities across the 6 target villages. The insights and data gathered directly from the communities will serve as a crucial foundation for designing practical activities and drafting the Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) in the next phase.

A Successful Wrap-up for Day 1 of the 5th National Policy Dialogue (ND5)! 🎉

This morning (July 2, 2026) at the DoubleTree by Hilton Vientiane, the Lao Academy of Social and Economic Sciences (LASES), in strategic partnership with the Green Community Alliance (GCA), organized the Annual Scientific Seminar 2025-2026. The seminar was honorably chaired by Dr. Sathabandith Insixiengmai, Vice President of LASES, and attended by researchers, line ministries, development partners, and both local and international civil society organizations (CSOs).

The dialogue was held under the theme: “Strengthening Rule of Laws to Ensure Smooth LDC-Graduation and Achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) under the New Global Contexts.” Marking its 5th edition since 2021, this platform continues to effectively bridge the gap between researchers and policymakers to discuss and exchange evidence-based policy research.

Over the two-day event (July 2-3), participants dive deep into critical global megatrends impacting Lao PDR, including: geopolitical trends, demographic structures, impacts of climate change, and opportunities in information technology.

🌿 GCA and LASES Gear Up for the National Policy Dialogue! 🌿
On June 19, 2026, the Green Community Alliance (GCA) in collaboration with the Lao Academy of Social and Economic Sciences (LASES) organized a consultation meeting to discuss and provide feedback on the research proposals for the 2025-2026 Annual Scientific Research Dissemination Conference.

📌 Main Objective: To review, exchange perspectives, and comprehensively prepare the content of the research proposals for presentation on a national platform.

✅ Key Outcomes: Various research papers received constructive feedback from multi-sectoral experts, ensuring the content is comprehensive and robust. Additionally, the meeting reached a consensus on the future action plan to ensure the most effective implementation of our initiatives.

🚀 Next Steps: The finalized research findings and proposals from this consultation will be presented to drive policy advocacy at the upcoming National Policy Dialogue, scheduled for July 2-3, 2026!

ໃນລະຫວ່າງວັນທີ 8 - 11 ມິຖຸນາ 2026 ນີ້ , ທີມງານ ສະມາຄົມສົ່ງເສີມຊຸມຊົນສີຂຽວ (GCA) ຮ່ວມກັບ ອົງການ Oxfam in Laos ໄດ້ລົງຈັດຕັ້ງປະຕິບັດກິດຈະກຳ ຢູ່ (ບ້ານປ່າກ້ວຍ,ບ້ານຄຳຕ໋ອງລ໋ອງ), ເມືອງຈຳພອນ, ແຂວງສະຫວັນນະເຂດ ເພື່ອເກັບກຳຂໍ້ມູນສຳລັບການປະເມີນກາງໂຄງການ (Mid-term Evaluation) ຂອງໂຄງການສົ່ງເສີມການກະສິກຳແບບປະສົມປະສານເພື່ອປັບຕົວ ຫຼື ຫຼຸດຜ່ອນການປ່ຽນແປງດິນຟ້າອາກາດ (CSA Project). ໂຄງການນີ້ໄດ້ຮັບການສະໜັບສະໜູນທຶນຈາກ ສະຫະພາບເອີຣົບ (European Union in Laos).

📢 GCA and Partners are Currently in Champhone District, Savannakhet for the CSA Project Mid-Term Evaluation! 🌿
Between June 8th and 11th, 2026 , the Green Community Alliance (GCA) team, in collaboration with Oxfam, AMA, and NAFRI , is on the ground in Champhone District, Savannakhet Province to collect data for the Mid-term Evaluation of the Climate-Smart Agriculture (CSA) project. This initiative is proudly funded by the European Union (EU).

The primary goal of this mission is to listen to the community and evaluate our ongoing progress. The specific objectives are to:
• 📊 Assess the progress and effectiveness of modern and mixed agricultural techniques (CSA).
• 👩‍🌾 Evaluate outcomes related to gender equality, women's empowerment, and youth participation in agriculture.
• 💰 Review the effectiveness of Financial Support to Third Parties (CBOs) and gather best practices for future scalability.

During this mission, our team is directly engaging with women, men, and youth farmers , Farmer Field School (FFS) participants , local authorities , and all relevant stakeholders through Focus Group Discussions and Key Informant Interviews. This ensures that the project remains highly responsive and truly builds long-term sustainability for our communities! 💚.

🤝 GCA Officially Signs MoA with Khongxedon and Lakhonpheng Districts 🌿

Recently in May, the Green Community Alliance (GCA) team has successfully signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with the local authorities of Khongxedon and Lakhonpheng districts, Salavan Province.

This signing represents a crucial step in implementing the "Together for People and planet (TOPP)" project, supported by WWF-Laos. The project aims to promote natural resource conservation and strengthen local production groups. 💚
